What is your username?
A. @giveitameaning
When did you join Wattpad? And for how long have you been writing (in general)?
A. I first started an account here in October 2012, so about a year and a half ago - I've since set up a different account dated much later. I've been writing for around two years with any seriousness.
What can you tell us about the current story you’re working on? Tell us a little about the plot and the characters in it?
A. Well, it's a modern fantasy/paranormal which follows Damien Smith as he struggles to come to terms with losing friends and his partner when his cruise ship sinks. He doesn't remember what happens afterwards, but it turns out he's become a Syren in that black spot. He ends up in a supernatural rehab centre where he meets Marilyn, a young vampire who's carrying an awful lot of baggage and drags Damien and his new friends into a whole load of mess.
Why do you think the readers should read your story (mention the factors which will be appealing to the readers)?
A. It's unusual, I suppose. It has interesting characters in it and lots of wit and sarcasm. It's got loads of surprises in it - I know that because it surprised me while I was writing it. It balances out the darker side with humour.
Which is your favorite character, in the current story you are working on?
A. Lorien, by a long way. He's an elf who just doesn't understand the concepts of privacy, sanity or English. He has a burning love for jelly and hot chocolate, and can't comprehend what a bedroom door is for.
How many stories have you posted on Wattpad (excluding short stories)?
A. Both accounts combined, around eight, though one or two are discontinued. On this account, there are three books of original fiction.
Can you tell us about your other stories, any two other stories that you are working on?
A. My Asteryd Quartet is based around a young orphan who doesn't understand why she has three supernatural alter egos in her head that can take over body at intervals. Book one is about her move to the Force headquarters as supernatural truces collapse around their heads, and book two has barely started, but is the 'catalyst' book for the rest of the series.
Do you offer critiques to other users? If you have offered a critique, mention that story?
A. Sometimes, but there are so many I've done I couldn't really specify.
Do you write for yourself or for the readers?
A. Myself, though readers' opinions are invaluable to me.
Describe yourself in ten words.
A. Sarcastic - Helpful - Observant - (Can be) Irritable - Weird - (Can be) Lazy - Messy - Useless (around the house) - Attentive - Interesting (Interpret that one how you want to)
