It's the 28th today meaning it's Ro-Ro's birthday, I have spent the whole morning with her just reading and playing tag I was going to suggestion we play hide and sneak soon but I guess she was feeling a little bored too.
"I really like flowers..." She mumbles looking at the picture in the book. I smile at this since our whole family is obsessed with flowers, I'd be surprised if she said she didn't care for flowers. "You know the blue ones that you and big brother bring me whenever you're out?" I give her a light hum knowing exactly the flower, It's called a Kikyo Snowflake amazing in colour and grows almost all year long in large fields outside our kingdom walls where no one really bothers them. Ro-Ro shuffles in my lap spinning around to look at me with her big brown eyes glossy and curious as her ears twitching up and down. She crouched in front of me and clasped the sides of my face. "Do you think we could go get some?" she asks me with a puppy dog look on her face voice low and already knowing the answer.
"Ro-Ro you know you're too young to go outside the kingdom, only a year ago were we able to start taking you out of the castle. Mother and Father would be terrified." I knit my eyebrows in concern.
"I know.." she huffs and sits fully down, body still facing me but her eyes out the window as she held one of my hands.
"Well, you know there is still lots of time till dinner.. Why don't I go on a little horse ride and bring you back some flowers?" she sits up quite excitedly doing some small hops.
"Really you would do that?! just cause it's my birthday?" she looks at me curiously and puffs her cheeks out as if she is accusing me of only loving her one day a year.
"No, not because it's your birthday but because I love you, all the time." I smile as I start standing up, grabbing the family staff next to me and holding Ro-Ro's hand in my other. She giggles and hops off the windowsill tugging me with excitement towards the library exit stopping only for a few seconds to tell Si-Sy where we were going she seemed uninterested but still wish me safe travels. Once in the hall she lets go of my hand causing me took at her before she pokes my side yelling the words 'tag you're it!' and starts bolting as fast as she can towards the foyer. I chase her but not surprisingly she is way faster then me, wearing heeled boots and carrying a heavy staff vs her shoeless feet and free hands makes racing games always end the same way for us. We end up running past the throne room, our father waving at me with a smile but also giving a worried look he chuckles and eggs me on. Ro-Ro turns the next corner and makes a kinda squeak sound, out of concern I call her name and around the corner with a little extra speed only to find her sitting on the ground at the feet of our mother.
"To bad we can't win wars with a race, then maybe your father and I wouldn't be so busy." Our mother chuckles to the two of us lifting Ro-Ro off the floor and holding her, giving a quick kiss on the nose. "So Wwere are you girls going? or was this just a game of cat and mouse?" she asks looking at me.
"Big sister Rosa is gonna get me some snowflakes because she loves me!" Ro-Ro pumps her fists in the air and kicks a leg just missing mothers left hand. Mother giving me a shocked look, both of us knowing the ride to the flowers isn't exactly a short one.
"If you wanna make it back in time for dinner then you better ride like the wind, how about I walk with you two over to the stables? your father won't miss me for a few more minutes, I was just over there since your brother got in." Mother spoke as soft as always, so calm and pleased as if knew everything was always going to be okay. Ro-Ro and I perked up at the topic of our brother being home, we always missed him so much but also enjoyed his stories of adventure. Mother took my hand and walked us all over to the stables and stable courtyard where Do-Monter our eldest brother stood talking with a worker.
