Alexander impatiently tapped his foot as he waited for the bus. He frowned as he looked at his watch for the 12th time. He's never been late, the Alexander Hamilton has never been late. Especially that today is his presentation for Economics class, and his whole group was counting on him (since he did most of the work). Alexander was confident enough that he will pass with flying colours, this was the guy who always says what he believes and writes like he's running out of time. But his perfect image as a role model student might be doomed all because his roomate Thomas spilled coffee on his alarm clock, and he doubts that his professor will consider his excuse. He mentally takes note to buy a waterproof alarm clock later.
His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a loud honk. At last the bus has arrived, but he cursed when he saw that all seats were occupied and there were people standing inside. But his attendance was on the line, so he shrugged it off and was willing to squeeze in the crowded bus. As he boarded he chose to stand at the back far away from the noisy highschool students with their senseless coversations about the girls who they want to get laid with and their new shoes. He sighed, kids these days, he thought. He looked around to see which passenger looked like who was about to go down at the next stop. Instead, his eyes caught a guy who looked about the same age as him. His curly hair was tied back into a pony tail. Curious, dark eyes looking far off through the window, and a pattern of freckles was scattered on his face. It took a minute or two for Alexander to realize that he's staring at the stranger. As if on cue the stranger looked at Alexander's direction, Alexander looked away pretending he was just looking for an unoccupied seat. But, the stranger knew better he chuckled at Alexander's slightly red face and those eyes of his sneaking glances.
The bus stopped and suprisingly half of the passengers went down including the one next to the stranger. Alexander was about to take seat at the middle row when the stranger halted him, "You know, you could sit next to me.", he said in a rather suggestive voice.
Alexander's face heated up, "Oh... no, thank you. I'm good."
"I don't mind having a cute guy such as yourself here with me."
That did it, by now Alexander was redder than his leftover Kool Aid juice, which Thomas probably drank by the time he left. The stranger laughed, "Shit, did I just really say that?", he patted the seat next to him, "Come on, I want some company before I die of boredom here."
It wasn't everyday you get to sit with a cute guy, especially when the cute guy called you cute. Alexander took out some papers and reorganised them, although they were already perfectly organised, it's what he does when he's nervous.
"Nervous?", the stranger asked.
Alexander flinced, how the fuck did he know?
"I saw the footnotes. Is it for a presentation?"
"Yeah...", but he'd be lying if he said that a presentation was giving him cold feet. Those damn eyes got him.
"John Laurens, by the way.", he introduced himself.
"Alexander Hamilton."
"Hamilton? Wait, wait, you go to Kings College?"
"Yeah, it's not really a big deal though."
"That makes us schoolmates! Awesome, I've heard about you from my buddies Lafayette and Hercules. They said you're this cool guy who just talks mad shit. No wonder you look familiar, not much of a talker outside school huh?"
"I... no, I just." He's stuttering, Alexander Hamilton never stuttered, why is he like this? He can't impress John with him being a nervous wreck right now.
