Chapter 2

J A D E  ("B L A D E")

"Lead the Way!" I said to Skylar as we run along the corridors.

Maraming estudyante ang nakakumpol kumpol at parang iisa lang ang tinitingnan. I look up and saw a figure on the rooftop. It's a figure of a girl and looks like she's about to jump off the cliff. We hurriedly ran to the stairs and a few minutes later, we already arrive at the rooftop.

Pagkabukas namin ng pinto kaagad na nakita namin ang isang babae na halatang tatalon na at tatapusin ang buhay niya.

"It's too early for dramas." Narinig kong sabi ni Bron.

Nakapalibot sakanya ang iilang estudyante at guro na pilit siyang pinipigilan para tumalon.

"Zoey! Wag kang tatalon!"

Rinig ko sa ilang estudyante. Nakita ko namang umiling iling lang si Zoey at humakbang ng isa. Dalawang hakbang na lang at siguradong mahuhulog na siya. Marami na rin kaming nakitang tao na namatay but we can't afford to see someone died without trying to save them. We should stop her.

I took a step forward. "Miss Zoey! I am Jade Blaice. The SSG's Secretary. I am together with the SSG's Vice President. Do you have anything in mind that we can consider just to stop you from jumping off?"

The girl at the cliff just remained silent and started crying. Her body is shivering a she took another step towards the cliff. This isn't a good thing.

I look at Bron who's gaze is on the girl. Maybe he's planning to drag the girl out of the cliff. Pero isang mali lang niya ay maaaring tumalon na agad ang babae. We can't do such thing that might end in something bloody.

"Too much for my first day of service."

Narinig naisang boses ng babae at napalingon kami sakanya. She had that bun style hair with some of the strands dangling at the side of her face. Demorlock Sianise. The new SSG President.

"What are you doing here?" She said as she stared at us- Me and Bron. She shouldn't know our real identities.

"President! As a part of the SSG, we are here to save that girl. It's our duty." I said.

Inilagay niya ang isa niyang kamay sa bulsa ng palda niya.
"Yeah? But you came up here first and leave us hanging in the office?" She said without an emotion on her face.

"It's not our mistake if you are an incompetent leader." Bron said.

"Zoey!"

Napatingin kami sa babaeng nakatingin na sa ibaba. This building has 6 floors. And if she push this she might end up a hundred percent dead.

"Ms. Martinez! Why are you doing this? Please don't waste your life!" A professor said.

The girl is still crying and as I set my eyes on her, I can see the fear. But if she has this fear, why would she do this?

"Ms. Martinez." tawag ni Demorlock sakanya. Is she now trying to save the soul of this poor girl?

"Puedo protegerte El asesino está aquí, ¿verdad? You can die in an instant. Why are you still making this dramas after all?" 

Demorlock said. We can't understand what she said in her first sentence but as she end it, she doesn't look like she's caring for this girl.

"Can someone tell me why the hell we have a president like her?" Bron said while shooting daggers at Demorlock.

"Miss President! What are you doing?! We must save Ms. Martinez!" I shouted at her. I know this is a sign of disrespect but the hell I care.

" Él es. Pero incluso si me salvas, él me matará. I can't do this anymore! I don't wanna live my life anymore!" Zoey said as her tears keep rolling on her cheeks.

"Why do they keep on speaking an alien language?" Bron said.

"Something is not in the place, Bron." I said as I realized something.

"Él debe ser arrestado. Por favor, déjalo pagar." And as she said those words, she jump off the cliff. Napatakip ako sa aking bibig at hindi makapaniwala sa nangyari.

Nakarinig ako ng sigawan ng mga estudyante at guro. Dumungaw ang ilan sa baba para makita ang kawawang babae na nakahandusay. This scene reminds me of what happened few years ago.

Nasanay na ako na makakita ng mga bangkay pero hindi siguro ako masasanay sa ganito. But I have to clear my mind, this is a case we need to solve.

And I have a gut of what really happened.

"Now." Napatingin kaming lahat sa babaeng nakasandal sa pintuan ng rooftop. Demorlock...

"No one is allowed to leave this premises for a while."

Nagbulong bulongan ang mga estudyante na andito na tila naguguluhan sa sinabi niya.

"Él debe ser arrestado. Por favor, déjalo pagar." She uttered Zoey's last words. She take a deep breath as she look at us.

"He must be arrested. Please, let him pay." She translated.

I knew it. Something is really off in the first place.

"A-ano? Zoey jump off the cliff. Sino ang kailangan magbayad?" Sabi ng isang proffesor na may katandaan na.

"This is not a suicide. More like a forced suicide. And yes, the killer is here."
