"The police department, how can I help you?"
"There's an emergency, someone is threatening to break in! Please send someone, h-he might hurt my son." A panicked woman voice replied, cracking at the last word as the caller let out a stream of tears.
"Right away. Just keep your son away from doors and windows, lock everything and grab something for defense just in case. Stay as calm and collected as possible; your son needs you to do that, alright? Can you do that for me while waiting? It won't be long."
Jimin instructed, keeping his voice as comforting and calm as he possibly could, something he definitely had experience in. Besides, he was that type of person whose voice was like honey.

Despite having worked as a secretary/assistant and at times like these, the busy nights, accepting even those kinds of calls, they scared him every time. Especially after... After he could hear a man get raped, beaten and in the end murdered. Jimin had wanted to hang up so bad, but he couldn't do anything other than listen and threaten the criminal. Because he wasn't allowed to hang up. While he understood why, his fear had made him want to do it anyway.

He covered the microphone of the phone before gazing towards the nearest cop.
"We've got someone trying to break into a house where there is a mother and a son." He informed, before writing down the adress the woman currently told him, and giving the cop the piece of paper. The cop immediately picked up his stuff and went - with backup.

After having sent two cops over, Jimin started to worry whether it was enough. "They'll call for extra back up, though, if it's problematic... Right...?" He muttered, picking up the paper cup filled with coffee.
"Of course, they're not stupid." A voice spoke behind him and Jimin yelped, heart punding. He turned around to face Jungkook. It bothered him that he had to look up a slight bit to meet his gaze. Especially because Jimin was two years older... The disrespect of the universe. "Right." He said, "You startled me."
Jungkook chuckled, "Yeah, you sounded like a puppy." He said teasingly. That rude meme.
Jimin looked down at his cup, trying to hide his face, as he could feel it redden a slight bit. This was stupid, and he disregarded it as a blush of annoyance. He furrowed his eyebrows, but didn't say anything, as he had heard himself clearly. "Whatever." He managed to say in a low voice, before moving to the side and walking past the younger.
"Show some respect, Jungkookie. I'm older than you." He said after a few short moments, sitting down by the table and glaring at him.

"Someone is in a bad mood." Jungkook said as he sat down beside him. Jimin nodded, "I don't like those calls," he said, "But I want to help. If this is how I can do it on... Busy nights, then I'll suck it up and do my best."

Jungkook looked at him in silence for what felt like hours, while it wasn't more than seconds. "You're brave, hyung." He said with a cute smile.
"Hmph. Says the one fighting crime," "Aren't you on duty?" He asked, tilting his head slightly.
"I'm off for now." Jungkook answered, "I don't want to go home because if they need me, I'll be prepared." Clearly he was prepared, uniform and all.
"You're too hardworking." Jimin said with a sigh, not able to comprehend how anyone could stay up working even when they weren't within work hours. Jungkook chuckled at that, "Look who's talking. You didn't sleep for three days because you wanted to help out, so I think you don't have much to say in that case... Hyung." He spoke, a playful grin on his adorable freaking face.
"Yeah, whatever. We're both too hardworking for our own good, then." Jimin said, a yawn escaping him and proving his point. What perfect timing.
