Chapter 3 : blue
“Well, where do I begin. Actually there's nothing much to tell, apart from the fact that Nathan likes Melissa and I just found out! He's liked her for two years! Almost as long as I've liked him! And she's not even a bitch that I get mad at her! They're also totally meant to be. Literally everyone in the school ships them, I was just too dumb to see it! And guess what! That little shit Adam! He knew! He knew but wouldn't tell me! And now! They're in the same class as me! How the hell do you expect me to get over him when he's here all the time, going heart eyes at Melissa!” I shout, not really though, Mr Smith was teaching, I could only whisper.
“Uhhhh…… Look, it's going to be fine, you can get over him, he's not worth it anyway. Also, did you see the new cute guy! Totally better than Nathan I'd say” Liza replied, trying to distract me. We both knew she was no good at comforting people, so I let myself be distracted for the time being, “ Which one?” I asked, looking around, trying to see if there was any new boy in class who was better looking than Nathan. The only person visible who could even come close to Nathan was Adam, and he definitely wasn't new.
“The one sitting with that girl you were just sitting with before I came.”
“Huda? She said she'd go sit with her brother.”
“Well then that guy must be her brother.”
I look towards where Huda was sitting and the guy beside her still had his back to me. Just as I was about to turn back, he turned around and holy shit! Look, I'm not one to go just for he looks but, holy shit! He had jet black hair, a long sharp nose, sharp jaw, and such pretty eyes even though I couldn't really see what colour they were, he was so far away that they just seemed black, maybe they were black, who knows. As I was thinking what colour the eyes could be, they turned to me and oh right! I was staring. Of course he caught me, being subtle wasn't one of my strong points. He quickly turned his eyes, towards Huda and said something to her which made her turn around. She turned around with a smile and waved at me excitedly, “Hey Emily!! This is my brother Hadeed.” I smiled at her adorable way of waving and nodded towards Hadeed, he nodded back and turned back to whatever he was doing before.
The bell rang, signalling the end of the period just then and Huda was out of her seat and at ours before anyone even had a chance to get up. “Hey! I'm Huda" she said introducing herself to Liza. “Hi! I'm Liza, sorry for being rude before, I was just really excited to sit with Emma.” Liza said, sheepishly. “Nah! That's fine, I like sitting with my brother, he's really shy and there were very slim chances he would sit with anyone else, I didn't want him to be a loner all year.” Huda replied laughing hysterically at her own joke. Her laugh was so adorable that both of us ended up laughing with her too. This year might actually turn out to be fun.
“Hey ladies!” Or maybe not, I thought as I saw Adam walking towards us along with Nathan.
“Hey Adam” I replied in the most bored voice I could come up with, by he didn't seem to take the hint. “So, who's your friend here?” He said, wiggling his eyebrows at Huda.
“Uh yeah man, don't do that. One, it makes me uncomfortable and two, it makes you look like an idiot.” Huda said, holding up two fingers as if explaining something to a five year old.
Adam looked surprised while Nathan just started laughing uncontrollably. Damn! Even his laugh was pretty! Oh for god's sake Emma! Shut up!
“I'm Adam and this is Nathan.” I heard Adam introducing himself. “I'm Hadeed and this is my sister Huda.” A new voice replied. My head snapped up and I saw him standing with Huda, in a protective stance and glaring at Adam. He had bright blue eyes, that also seemed green, and even gray, depending on how the light shined on them. He was wearing a dark blue button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up till the elbows. He was also, definitely taller and broader than Nathan. “And prettier" a voice in my head whispered. Wait no, that wasn't in my head, I turned to see Liza's face really close to mine, smirking evilly, “I know you were comparing him to Nathan, and I definitely approve. This one's better” she continued. I rolled my eyes “shut up Liza.” She laughed a little, in a way that made it seem like she was either planning something or she knew something that I didn't. Both of us turned back to realise Melissa had also joined the group and at the moment was talking to Huda, who seemed really comfortable with her. I also caught Hadeed sneak a small peek at her before he excused himself to go back to his seat. Great! He's gonna go off to her too. And what is it with the crowd at our seat!
