2 weeks later
We've been here for about two weeks and let me tell you it's been both good and bad. The twins are adjusting fine to the change and they are starting to feel at home. I on the other hand have been feeling like I don't belong here. Elsa has been having so much Morning sickness that Killian spends most of his time with her.
I mean I get it she's pregnant but I can't help but feel like I'm the other woman. I love Killian with all of my heart and this kingdom, shoot I was the queen but I don't know if I feel at home.
I'm walking through the stables and I see Liam looking at the horses. He's been really drawn to them. I smile as I see one of the stable boys giving Liam a brush so he he could brush the horses hair. It warmed my heart so much. I continued to walk and I see Leía standing in the garden. She used to love smelling flowers and it warmed my heart knowing she's still the same.
My kids are happy here and honestly this is the best place they could be at. I walked back into the house and I see Elsa reading in one of the dinning halls. I wanted to dislike her but I couldn't, she has not fault here. I make my way up to my room and I go and stand by the window.
Memories of everything that I've gone through play in my mind and it makes me sigh. We shouldn't have gone to that trip. If we hadn't I would have grown here with Killian and the kids. Now I just feel like an outsider. I didn't want to take the title as queen and I didn't want to be in charge of anything. I think what I miss was the life I had before the island.
I went to go sit on the bed and that's when I hear a knock. "Mom?" The door opens and it's Aqua. I smile. "What's up sweetie?" She smiles nervously. "I was wondering if you wanted to help me pick out a dress?" I get up and smile. "A dress for what?" She smiles nervously again. "Just to go into town." I give her a weird look.
"Just to go into town?" She turns red. "Mom Just Come." I smile. "Ok I'll meet you in your room." She smiles and walks out. I shouldn't be so selfish, Aqua is my daughter too, my first born I need to be here for her, I am her mother after all. I made my way to her room and I see dresses piled on the bed. I laugh.
"Mom I don't know which one." I smile as I go through her dresses. "Wear this dark blue dress." She smiles as she grabs it and goes to change. I look around her room and I look at all her little things. I had never really paid attention to her room, I've been in here a couple of times but not really. I was looking at her vanity and I see that her journal was open.
I glance over it and my heart sank. "Why won't mommy come home, does she not like me?" I closed it and I wanted to cry. My poor Aqua grew up without a mother and here I am wanting to go back to the island. "How do I look?" I over hear Aqua say. I turn around and my did she look beautiful. I smile as I walked up to her.
"You look beautiful." She smiles. "I know I'm all old but..." I smile. "It's ok come on let's do your hair." She nods. She goes and sits down and starts to brush her hair. I stood behind her and smiled. "May I?" She nods and gives me the hair brush. I start to brush her hair and she closes her eyes. This is a mother's job, to pamper her daughter and help her with these things.
"I'm sorry Aqua." She shakes her head as a tear falls down her cheek. "I'm just happy you're back." I smile. I then chuckle. "So I'm assuming you're going into town to meet with a young man?" She chuckles. "No." I smile. I gave her a straight look. I continued to brush her hair and she sighed. "You know that's how I met your dad." She gasped. "Really?" I nodded. "Yeah I was walking by the docks with my best friend and he bumped into me."
She gasped. "Yeah He was playing tag with your aunt Leilani." She smiled. "No?" I nodded. "Yeah after that day I totally fell for him." She smiled. "So I'll cover for you as you go into town." She smiled. "Thanks because I know Dad will flip." I smiled. "So it's true?" She gasps. "You tricked me?" I smiled. "I know how this works, I had your age once." She smiled.
I kissed her forehead and then a tear rolled down her face. I wiped it and she smiled then hugged me. "I'm so happy you're back mom." I hugged her back and smiled. "I promise I will never leave." She smiles. "Well go have fun." She nods and walks away. Maybe being here is the best thing for me because I can finally be the mother Aqua needs me to be.
