Chapter Twelve

After my fight with Killian and the revelation of Holly finding out about the vampire brothers, I knew that I had betrayed her, we were like sisters and I broke that trust only for a good reason but I didn't know how to tell her that, the problem was the secret, it had to be kept quiet from her as I didn't want her to get hurt by Matthew, the guy she liked.

The apartment was silent, Holly and I weren't on speaking terms about earlier, by now I felt that she was hurt and more especially betrayed by me for not telling her about the secret that I was supposed to tell but I decided not to. I felt silence every day and every-night. Killian still wasn't speaking to me since our fight (well he tried to get hold of me but I was literally so pissed off) and God knows what Matthew was up to these days.

24th December 2009

Christmas Eve, the day that I was supposedly excited for, but this year I wasn't excited for anything, these last few weeks has been exhausting and yet painful at the time.

Holly decided that she wanted to have time and space away and by that she meant she moved out temporarily back to her parents', to solve things between us and give her time to process everything that I told her. I agreed, giving her time and space to figure things out on her own.

I have no idea where Killian or Matthew are, probably they are eating innocent humans or hunting not that I care, but I can't help wonder that I am actually worried about them.

I have never felt more scared than Holly was here, I'm all alone and I felt that someone would come through that door any day now and murders me, or even worse, bite me to turn me into a... vampire. That would mean that if I was a vampire, then my only source of surviving would be feasting on blood, either an animal or human blood.

In the morning, I saw Holly briefly and she caught my eye, I wanted to walk over but she turned away from me to chat with her other friends and walking away presumably to her next class.

I sighed sadly when I was walking to my class, settling to my seat when I find the empty seats of Killian and Matthew 'Looks like that they haven't been attending classes again' I drowned on to the words of Professor Green as the minutes slowly ticked on.

After a dreadful day of classes, I decided to walk home, it was very dark but I couldn't help but feel scared, like someone is following me from behind, I looked over my shoulders... But no one was there. So I shrugged it off to carry on walking home.

After I got home, I decided to take a shower and then do the essay, I wanted to pick up my phone and apologise to Holly but then I remembered what she said that night "Just don't call or text me when I'm ready to call you okay, I love you Lis and you're still my best friend. But I can't exactly trust you now with everything that has been going on, give me time and I promise that I will call you and run back to you and apologise for everything that I've said to you"

The next morning went by a blur, Except a few people has asked me to go to the Christmas Party a day earlier and now that the university has closed for winter break, I've decided to go, which is better than moping around the house on Christmas when I should be having fun.

That evening, I was on FaceTime with my Mum and Steve and waving at my step-siblings wishing them a merry Christmas and that I couldn't come down to London to spend Christmas with them as the roads were blocked.

After getting off the phone with them, I decided to get dressed, A simple but sexy black dress which hugged my figure nicely, paired with black boots and I dabbled on a smoky make up which made me fierce.

My hair was curled perfectly and showed the perfect signs of life without the irritating knots, tangling through it. I smiled at myself in the mirror and headed out the door with a clutch bag.

When I arrived, the party was in full swing, there were loud music some kind of a pop song and there were teenagers already drunk, their bodies already sweaty and grinding next to each other on the dance floor.

I went to the table where they supposedly served orange juice and next to it was some kind of punch that probably has been spiked by some random teenager. I grabbed the ladle and poured myself some orange juice. I drank it and within minutes I began to feel funny, my head was spinning everywhere and I was seeing double.

"Hey, you okay?" I looked to see a girl next to me, holding my arm gently like I was going to fall from the dizziness "you don't look so good, I think you should get some air" I nodded at that suggestion and walked away, thanking her in the process.

I walked outside to the pavement and the cold air shivered, sending me chills on my body, I still felt funny where to the point that I couldn't see anything or anyone and my walking wasn't even straight anymore. I saw someone on the road, far away but squinting my eyes I couldn't tell who it was.

I heard footsteps getting closer and closer to me "Erm miss, are you okay? Just that you don't feel good, let me just take you home I promise I won't try anything with you, because I don't think you should be going home on your own like this"

I looked up to the mysterious stranger and whispered "Killian" before going limp in his arms.
