«Katie's POV»
"HEY! FUTURE WIFE OF C.C.!" I turned to see my best friend, Sydney, who I haven't seen all week. "Hey Sydney." I gave a faint smile. "I missed you."
"What's wrong? Is my little K.C. sad?"
"I'm okay." She frowns. "Katie. I'm serious. What's wrong?"
"I just. . . my brothers, and mom, and dad. My whole life." I pull up my sleeves and show her my new scars. "KATIE! You told me you would frickin' stop!" Tears stream down my cheeks as I slowly slide to the floor, my back pressed against my locker.
"Don't you see? I can't. I've tried, I just can't. . ."
"C.C. is gonna be so pissed." I give an immediate reaction.
"Your not going to tell him, are you?" She looks down at her phone.
Her finger drags, pokes, and circles something. I grab her phone, thinking she's taking a picture, and sending it to C.C.
"Katie! Give it back! Now! I'm not sending them to C.C.!"
"Then who are you sending them to? Savannah? I'll give it back if you promise not to send it to anyone." She made a confused look.
"What? I can't hear you!" She grabs at her phone again, grabbing my wrist with her other hand. She took it out of my hand and ran.
I pulled my legs up to my chest and just sat there.
"Hey. Sorry about earlier." A familiar voice tells me in a comforting tone.
I look up, through the tears, and see my sort-of friend, Dominic.
"It's okay." I say wiping off tears, and mascara, with my sleeve.
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" I sit up better and cross my legs.
"Nothing. I just. . . I don't like myself. People say I'm pretty, well, I'm just a pretty face with an ugly body." His jaw dropped.
"Don't even say that! Katie, you can't talk about yourself like that!" A teacher comes out of a classroom and walks over to us.
"Hon, are you okay? Is it something we can talk about?" I shake my head and stand up.
"Well if not, you need to leave."
"Can't we just stay a little longer? Please?" She shakes her head, and walks back into the classroom.
