"Don't be dumb."

"I'm always dumb."

"But don't be extra dumb."

I turn around, sigh, "Monica, if you're not going to help then you should just go home and get yourself ready."

"Sorry, sorry." Waving her always manicured hands she clarifies, "Just don't show off a lot of boob. It's a high school party, guys will be trying to get their hands on any and everything as is."

"Gee," I laugh, "thanks for the advice."

"Hey," I look over, she's standing at the window. "Who's moving in?"

I walk over and shrug. "No one here." We both look over the white and orange moving truck, and watch a man in blue jeans and a pink polo shirt open the back. "They're probably moving in next door. The place has been vacant for weeks."

"Oh no, what happened to Cindy?"

"Her mom got a job out of state. You didn't know?"

"No." Mon whines. "I can't believe she moved. God, I'm going to miss her so much."

"You didn't even realize she was gone for six weeks." I giggle. "I think you'll pull through." She throws a pillow at me. I gasp and throw it back twice as hard. Okay, three times.

"O-M-G." Her face turns a weird shade of pink as she looks back out my window. "Boy alert."

I just stare at her. "Boy alert?"

Grinning, she pulls me down a little bit. "Shut up and look."

Outside, stepping out of the van is a tall, dark, brooding piece of gorgeous. He's got amazing curly hair he very clearly straightened, blonde streaks. "God damn." I whisper. "That jawline though."

"He looks mad."

"With bone structure like that he probably always looks mad." I whisper.

"Why are you whispering?"

"I don't know I'm afraid if I talk loudly my mother will hear me and ground me for two months for thinking about a boy." I joke. Well, sort of.

We both silently watch him take a box full of big ass books from Pink Polo Guy and carry them into the house. "He's got muscles." Monica whispers.

"He's wearing all black," I push her arm. "You know how I feel about guys in all black."

"You mean I know how the entire world feels about guys in all black? Yeah, honey, I know."

"Oh, oh! He's back!"

Next, the unnamed beauty says something to Pink Polo Guy, nods, shrugs, rolls his eyes, nods more, smiles, nods, turns around, rolls his eyes again and walks back into the house. "Shit this is getting eventful." I laugh. "What do you think will happen next?" I ask. "He'll walk out, grab a box and walk back in? I'm so ready."

"Does this qualify as stalking?" Monica asks.

"Nah." I wave my hand.

"Oh my god, look, he's back 2.0." Patting my arm, my friend points through my bay window to a window on the other house. We watch him stack to boxes on top of each other as we slowly move to sit at the window. Like if we move to quickly he'll disappear. "Think he'll take his shirt off?"

"Now we're stalking."

"Whatever, we're just casually looking out a window. Casually. In a casual way." Monica smiles. "So, Ebony, how's that sister of yours?"

"Bratty, how's you- Oh." I say, looking out the window.

"What?" She looks.

Pretty Boy runs his hands through his hair multiple times in the mirror he just brought in, his biceps flexing.  "I think I'm pregnant." I whisper.
