Ryder POV
I got in my car when school was finished. I had only one thought on my mind.
Why wasn't Poppy at school today?
I sighed as I started the engine.
Did something bad happen to her?
As I drove home, I saw a girl from a distance with a dog on her lap. It rained a couple of minutes ago and her hair was wet. As I drove closer, I saw who it was.
Poppy.
I stopped the car and got out.
I walk closer to her and see a sock wrapped around her thigh. It was wet from blood.
She was staring at Gucci. She must of saw my shadow because she looked up.
"Ryder?" She asks.
"Yes?" I say.
She sighs. Poppy removes the sock and wraps another one around her thigh. I saw the stab and my eyes widen.
"Poppy, what happened?" I ask squatting down to meet her level.
I look into her eyes to see it watery. She shakes her head.
"I don't wanna talk about it."
"Can you at least tell me why your out here? Alone." I said.
"It's part of the story. I-" She gets cut off by me.
"C'mon. I'm not letting you stay here." I said.
"No, you always save me." She says. "You need a break from me."
I shake my head. "No. Your coming with me."
She sighs and tries to get up, but let's put a slight cry.
I lay my arm on her shoulders so she can use me for support. I open the passenger seat for her and then open the backseat for Gucci to jump in. Once Gucci is inside I get inside the car.
I start the engine and I start driving home.
"I'm sorry you always have to see me like this." Poppy says all of a sudden.
"No need to be sorry." I say. "If you need help, I'll always help you."
I look over to her to see a small smile on her face. I look back at the road.
I park my car in the driveway. I get out the car and open the car for Gucci to come out and then I open the door for Poppy. I help her out and we reach my doorstep.
I dig in my pocket for they keys and open the door. Alison was here as usual and my mom had the week off.
I look over to my right to have a look at Poppy. I find her eyes closed.
Oh shit.
"Mom! Come here! I need your help!" I yelled.
Alison came to the doorway.
"What happened now? Why is she always hurt?" She asked, her voice barely a whisper.
"I don't know. She said she'll tell me later." I say quietly.
I look at her thigh to see it was the same thigh that was stabbed last time.
Who ever did this her is going to pay.
My mom came from down the stairs. She gasped when she saw Poppy.
"This is getting out of hand. Who did this? Was it the same person?" My mom asked as I laid Poppy on the couch.
