Best friends are supposed to be forever. When you're someones best friend, whether it's spoken or unspoken, it's a promise to always have each others backs and to always be there when they need each other. They are loving and kindhearted to each other, and help the other out in times of need and vulnerability. They stick up for each other when one feels scared. They can talk for hours on end and can never get tired of each other.Cameron had a best friend. They used to do everything together, and they used to laugh and go places together, and used to always be there for each other if they needed help.
Though, the tables had seemed to turn since that time, way back when. The laughs became less frequent, the smiles faded, and the special time they had together alone turned into not being important enough when it came to being with others.
Cameron's best friend has changed. Cameron didn't think he'd let him, he always tried his hardest to keep his buddies head out of the clouds, but he failed, and now what used to be his best friend has made a monster out of himself.
Cameron was sat at an uncleaned booth at the local mall in Orlando, by himself. He scrolled through his phone as he sipped on the drink he had gotten at Starbucks. He couldn't help but sneak secret glances at a few tables over to the group of boys, who he would have usally been sat with, but they all seemed the same. They all changed.
As Cameron glanced at Nash from afar, he irritably noted the way Nash acted when he is in public. He acted so different. Nash talked in a deeper tone, his slight southern accent seemed to disappear into thin air in the time of only a few short seconds. He didn't know exactly how, but Nash's walk was also different. It didn't matter what the blue eyed boy did, Cameron always seemed to notice something was off.
Nash's humor is more crude. Instead of being with Cameron, laughing at their good times at MagCon together, he was sat with everyone else wolf-whistling at random girls butts.
Him and Nash never talked anymore, and when they did it was late at night, screaming profanities and throwing random objects near each others heads, fighting for hours. Sometimes it got to bad one of the boys slept in the hall because they couldn't stand to be in the same room as each other.
Cameron tries to distant himself from the 10 boys who seemed to have took Nash and started treating him like a doll-dressing him up and shaping his personality into something it wasn't for other people's enjoyment- and Cameron found that it made him mad and disappointed.
Cameron isn't the only one who has noticed Nash's sudden change in personality. Nash himself knows he is changing, and he believes it's for him and Cameron's own good. Nash was trying to toughen up, since he knew the boys were suspicious about Cameron and himself. Nash didn't want them finding out, so now he blocks out all his feelings and hides it behind a pair of Ray-Bans, a Snapback and a rude tone. Those were all it took to make him seem like he fits in more with the other boys.
He didn't realize it, but the way he was acting crushed Cameron inside. Nash was so blind to the fact that how he's changed crushed his best friend inside. Cameron felt so unwanted and used that he didn't even feel like he belonged with the boys anymore. Cameron was pretty much the only one who hadn't gone insane, in his opinion.
Cameron had wished he would have knowned Nash was changing before hand, because when Cameorn started to notice is when things started snowballing. They now fight more than get along.
Cameron's deep thoughts about Nash had been broken when it was time to leave the mall to head back to their hotel. Why did Nash have to go and make things so Complicated?
