Ghastly and Fletcher:
Fletcher turned to leave,
"Fletcher" Ghastly called. "You're too upset, come and talk with me".
"My Hair!!"
Ghastly frowned, confused but Fletcher carried on.
"How could Valkyrie leave me if I've got this hair? I mean, Caelan doesn't have this hair. His hair's floppy!! Why would she leave me for someone with floppy hair?"
"Well maybe..." Ghastly began "Maybe your hair was just so amaz- no, I can't do it, sit with me".
Fletcher sighs and sits beside Ghastly.
"We all knew Valkyrie was a bit of a rebel..."
Fletcher mumbled something.
"What?" Ghastly asked.
"That's what I liked about her" he said, tears in his eyes.
Ghastly coughed awkwardly and tried again, "We all knew Valkyrie was..." he trailed off.
Fletcher stood up "Beautiful, smart, funny, perfect, she ticked all the boxes" Fletcher was about to continue but Ghastly stopped him.
Ghastly grabbed his shoulders and shook him hard, "Valkyrie wasn't for you! We all saw it!".
Fletcher broke down crying and Ghastly pulled him into a hug. Fletcher started to pull away awkwardly and caught Ghastly's eye. He saw something he'd never seen before............
China and Tanith:
Tanith stumbled around the corner. She could feel herself dying, the gaping hole in her chest was throbbing. Sanguine had ripped the remnant out of her. She looked up and noticed she was on China's road. Tanith took another step.
She saw China on the ground, surrounded by a pool of blood and the back end of the Bentley turning around the corner. What had they done to her? What had she missed?
China turned her head and saw Tanith stumbling towards her. She had a gaping hole in her chest and looked weak. Tanith dropped down beside China. China was crying.
"I've been so bad. Congratulations by the way"
"Th-Thanks" Tanith whispered, "Let's get inside, we both need help"
"Oh, I'm fine, healed myself already! I'll just need help getting up"
Tanith used all her strength to pull China up. They both limped up to China's apartment, which hadn't been caught in the blast. China told Tanith to sit up on a desk while she got equipment to stitch her up and speed up the healing.
China got to work, dabbing cream and then drawing symbols which would disappear after her chest was healed.
China cut the string, "There!". Tanith went to hop off the desk but China told her to rest.
"So what happened between you guys?" Tanith asked.
"Well I guess you're gonna find out anyway, "China sighed. "Skulduggery found out my secret. I led his family into the trap".
Tanith looked puzzled.
"I...knew that...I thought that was known...". China raised an eyebrow.
"Can I say something?" China asked. Tanith nodded. "You have an amazing pair!". Tanith's jaw dropped.....awkward silence......
"I'm actually a man" Tanith replied. China locked eyes with Tanith.
"I have missed your leatherness" China said.
"Baby!" Tanith cried, throwing her arms open, which China ran forward to.
