I woke up this morning with no idea where I was, or what my name was. My head was throbbing and my throat was burning. The memories from last night swarmed into my head and I groaned. Great. From what I could gather, Danny and I had got into what Laura calls a cat fight, which is strange considering I actually turn into a cat, and I had tried to bite her. LaF had to split us up. I didn't want to get up and have to face Laura's accusing glares and comments. I know they want to stay friends but how can they do that when Danny's trying to get into Laura's pants at every opportunity?
Reluctantly, I got up and padded to the kitchenette, where my nostrils were assaulted with the sweet scent of blood. I gagged violently and ran back to my bed, burrowing into the covers. So that's why my throat was burning; I was thirsty. Warily, I unwrapped myself from the covers and stood up, where I gagged again. This time, not from the scent of blood, but the strong smell of industrial grade disinfectant. I furrowed my eyebrows and tried not to growl. I failed.
I heard a cough from behind me and I turned to see Laura, holding mistletoe in her hand and a smirk on her face. She made her way to me and stood on her tiptoes slightly so we were level.
"Happy New Year, Carmilla," she whispered, pressing her soft lips to mine. I felt like I had gone to Heaven. When she pulled back, I looked at her suspiciously.
"Aren't you mad about last night?" I asked, giving her 'the look' - the one where I look completely disgusted but am actually really confused. She shrugged and moved over to my bed, and collapsed onto it. She hugged her yellow pillow, which I had apparently commandeered yet again. Laying down next to her, I wrapped my arms around her tiny body and she laid her head on my collarbone.
"Why did it smell of blood?" I asked, staring up at the ceiling. Without saying a word, Laura got up and left. I frowned, missing her warmth, but she was back in a couple of minutes. She laid down in her original position and placed a cup between my thighs. I picked it up and took a sip, moaning when I tasted the sweet blood.
"I was making this and spilt some. I didn't want you to smell it and try to eat me," she giggled innocently. I smirked, giving what Lafontaine called my 'seduction eyes'.
"Well it hasn't worked. I still want to eat you," I murmur, pressing my lips gently to her forehead. I waited patiently, and sure enough, I could almost hear the cogs in her brain working.
"You're a vampire, Carm, of course you want to eat me." She said, leaning up on her elbow so she was hovering over me. I bit my lip and continued giving her the 'seduction eyes'.
"No, I want to eat you," I whispered, pulling her on top of me. Our legs intertwined and she pressed our foreheads together, her eyebrows furrowed as she tried to work it out.
"Yeah, you want to eat me because you're a vampire, right? I'm so confused. Please explain."
I rolled my eyes and smashed my lips into hers, taking her by surprise.
Yeah, this was gonna be a good year.
