A loud groan was followed by a stomach growl.
"I'm hungry," Colin whined.
I take the drawstring bag off of my back and open it. Inside it is my phone, a couple of granola bars, and a water bottle.
I pick a bar out of my bag and extend it to Colin, "Here. Eat it so that you'll shut up."
His face turned up and disgust was written all over it, "That's all you have? Seriously?"
"Okay then. Don't eat it. This is all my shit anyway. You're here for what reason again?" My temper was rising by the millisecond.
"Fucking bitch."
"Excuse me? You wanna say that again?" I stopped walking and looked at him with a furious expression.
"Nothing," Colin mumbled to himself and snatched the granola bar out of my hand.
"Mhm. That's what I fucking thought."
"When are we going to be back? I'm so tired and my legs are aching," Colin continued to whine.
"We would have already been back if your dumbass would have just let me lead." I walked over to a clear patch of land and sat down.
Colin sat down next to me, "I was just trying to be a good leader."
I put my hand on my heart and tightly squeezed my eyes closed. My head and heart were battling each other. Do I go off or do I keep quiet? My brain tells me to calm down. My heart is eager to explode. Head or heart? Heart or head? Heart it is.
"I have a real problem with what you just said. I don't need to be led by someone else. I know what the fuck I'm doing. Please just let me do my own thing, and live my own life. Unlike your little squad of rats that you call friends, I don't need someone to tell me when to eat, when to drink, or when to take a piss. So, if you thought that you could use your charm to control or lead me, you were wrong. I will not-"
Colin's arms were wrapped around my body. My hand quickly collided with his cheek. Colin gasped and rubbed the red marking on his face.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Colin? I told you not to touch me."
A smirk was plastered on his face, "You kept talking, and that was the only way I knew I could get you to shut up."
I slapped him again, "Dude, what the hell?"
"Ow! What? Honesty is the best policy."
"You make me want to kick and yell. Oh, my God. I'm stuck with a freaking idiot. This is some pretty amazing luck. Do you know what I should really do? I should just leave your ass here to die."
"No, you shouldn't do that."
"We'll see about that." I stood up and ran to the most familiar place I know.
