A, at times things may not go the right way, or the way we want them to, there will always be bumps in the road.
B, before the time of crisis we lived a normal life of an average family, had a dog and kid and a house.
C, costly was our mistake of not taking the storm seriously, the power indescribable and forces unknown.
D, deserted is what we are now, a tragedy has happened that I had been fearing ever since we moved here.
E, everything is gone, yet nothing is lost, we can rebuild once all of this is over and everything's back to the way it was before.
F, forget the past and look forward, don't look back on the old life, that was taken from us.
G, gracious to have each other in times of needs when we can't get much else of anything.
H, heroes that saved us from the waters of the storm, the devastation and the destruction.
I, Irma the beast that tore us to shreds, destroying everything in its path, a creature that cannot be contained.
J, joined in the fight for others, helping whoever needs it whether talking or healing we helped.
K, killed, people lost to the storm, from strangers to friends, from loved ones to hated, but all is forgotten, all of us in the same as of now.
L, lost amongst the crowds of people who are shelterless and withered to the bone struggling to make their ways to their cots.
M, money a thing of the past, something that cannot help us right now, things we needed but now do not, there isn't a place where cash would be of value.
O, on the highway to nowhere, no place we can go, all we can do now is simply wait for it to be over.
P, perceiving the reality compared to what others see on their TV's, but they do not understand the heartbreak that thousands have gone through these past few days.
Q, questioning ourselves whether or not we can last until the waters are away and we can go back to our normal lives.
R, ruffling the hair of our young and telling them everything is going to be alright when really we do not know that to be true.
S, suffocated by the stress of what is happening and if it is going to happen again and if it does what will we do.
T, tables piled high with blankets and bread to keep us warm and slightly nourished during our time of need
U, unknown if our house is still there, hopeful that it is but not sure we are waiting to hear if our block was destroyed or not.
V, vultures picking apart animals big and small we see during the drive to the site of where our house was.
W, welcoming our dog back from the kennels held in California, walking him around the fallen trees and muddy roads,
X, x-acto knives used to open boxes of supplies sent to us from family in California, cleaning supplies, for the water damage and the dirt scattered about.
Y, yawning in the morning after a long week of cleaning and restoring the house after the storm.
Z, zoning out in a bowl of cereal thinking about how lucky we were to have our house still here thankful that Irma was easy on us.

Letters Of the Storm
Non-FictionA somewhat sappy writing, in the way that I used letters to describe the destruction caused by Hurricane Irma.
