I walkrd back to the in with Mari at my side. We had just drove Yura to the station, as he was fly to Mascow in order to celebrate the new year with his family. Little did he know he was missing my birthday. I didn't tell him though, I didn't want to seem needy.

I was about to slide the door closed behind me, when I heard a car pull up. I was confused. Everyone was here, besides they usually walk to get here. "Akira! Akira!" a familiar voice yelled. I heard the bang of a car door closing and frantic footsteps, before I was tackled to the ground. There was incoherent noises coming from stop me.

"Nice to see you too Koni," I greeted my friend who was still on top of me. I could feel her rub her face into the back of my head. "Now get off me," I pushed her off me.

"You're a skelington," she commented, "Are you not eating again. Aki, I know you have a fixation with death, but girl, you gotta eat." She hasn't talked to me on months, shows up at my house, and starts scolding me. "Hey, look at me when I'm talkibg to you." She grabbed my chin and pulled my face up. I couldn't feel her in my personal space.

"Um, I lost my sight," I remonded her, holding up my cane, and tapping her on the head. I told her. but I knew she could be forgetful.

I felt myself be lifted up in a hug. "My dear little baby, I'm so sorry, I forgot. You'll never be able to see my face, or your face, or anything ever again." I could tell she was close to crying.

"I can still see things that are close to my face," I informed her, just letting her hold me off the ground. "That includes pictures."

"Put Akira down," a familiar voice said. I reconized it as Koni's older brother, Makoto. He was the same age as Yuri, and he was probably the closest thing he had to a friend his age before he went to college. His sister obligated and let me go.

"Let's go to where it's warm," Koni said, and pulled me further into my own home.

"Is Yuri here? I sorta wanna catch up," Mako to asked me awkwardly.

"He is, but he might be busy with Victor, but hell if I know," I told him as his sistef pulled me away, she had grabbed something from her brother. She froze when she tool a step into the main room. She then pushed me back our, even though everyone was well aware of our arrival.

"Why is there a hot guy hugging your brother?" she asked, trying to hold off a nose bleed. She didn't watch figure skating, unless I made her. She only knew what I told her.

"That's Victor," I told her, "His coach, and boyfriend... or are they engaged?" I honestly didn't know if it was something Victor was going to hold true to, or if it was just something to makw everyone to not think k they were married. I walked back into the room. "You guys are engaged right?" I asked, interrupting the start of their conversation with Makoto.

"Aki," Yuri and Koni managed to complain at the same time, for differebt reasons. Yuri was embarrassed about me veinf so blunt about it. Koni was trying to drag me back so she could have a fujoshi freak out together.

"Of course we are," Voctor declared. From the surprised gasp from Yuri o was sure he had hugged him. I couldn't also hear a bit a malace in his voice. Was he jealous for some reason?

Koni started repeatedly slappibg my shoulder, as she was freaking out. I reached over and grabbed her hands. "Stop," I commanded. I then felt something in her hand. A paper bag with coarse thin handles. The contents needed to be pretty heavy for it to put as much stairs on her hand as they did. "What is this?" I asked, wiggling her hand with the bag.

"Happy birthday!" She proclaimed, as it was in four days, on January first. "And Merry Christmas! Eh, that's technically chronological order, but not... Time is weird." I nodded in agreement to that. She then forced the bag into my hand.

I sat down behind the table, knowibg for sure the bag couldn't be supported by one handle. Inside were a bunch of things boos, once closer I recognize them as next books in series you could only get at Comiquet. (Probably spelt wrong) We used to go together, but I had missed it because of school. "You are the best friend any otaku could ask for," I declared wrapping her in a hug.

"Awe, anything is worth it to see you happy," she said huging me back, and pulling me closer. Our friendship was a strange one, we became friends because she thought I was going to jump off the school roof and commit suicide. It felt nice to have someone actually care about me. We bonded over doujin and anime. I had recruited her to help me write songs, and she became the main voice of Sarah Mei. Then she started confessing to me. She loved me more than a friend, but I didn't. We were well aware of eachother's feelings but we still needed eachother in our lives. Even if it cause some pain. Her from unrequited love, and me puttibg my friend in pain.

"Oh, I heard the new song on the way here!" she declared, keeping me in her lap. I was perfectly fine with it. We've seen eachother naked, hot spring, we were close. "I was worried when you didn't ask me for any help, and news came out that you were puttibg our another album. But it was beautiful." Her eyes brimmed with tears. "My little Aki has grown so much."

"It's not that great, and the chose to put out my least favorite one before the rest," I sighed, leaning back into her shoulder. I started picking at my sleeve, with a tingling feelinf creeping on my arms. My habit of sctrachinf myself had resurfaced. I was trying not to give in, but sonetimes I couldn't. "I love the music part, but the words. They aren't right. I'm too blunt for music, and I can't properly word what I'm feeling. Let alone my voice, it spans too far..."

"Stop it," Koni stopped with, with anger in her voice, "Or I will physically fight you. " I rolled my eyes at her extreme tendencies. It was nice to know I had someone there for me. I used to have Yura, but he's not really there any more.
