Last year I made, I made this picture for my little brother Rex for his birthday. This year he is now 11. The costumes Manic and Anais are wearing are for a Latino holiday celebrated in my Hispanic culture, Dia de Los Muertos or the Day of the Dead. It's holiday where we remember those who have passed away. We even dress up for the occasion. The reason they're dressed like this is because my brother's birthday is on the Day of the Dead. Rex was born on November 2, the same date the holiday is celebrated every year. So to my family, it's not only a day when celebrate ones who passed, it's the day we celebrate my brother came to this world.
