Chapter Thirty Nine
~Violet's POV~I love Saturdays. I mean, I just absolutely love them. Why wouldn't I? No school. Since the money from the will came in for Tee, I haven't needed to work. So I mean it's kind of like a day entirely for myself. What could ever be better than that? I dig out my notebooks and start doing some work in them. I am a very busy person. When my door opens, I don't look over. I know that it's just Jaxton being his normal, annoying, intrusive self.
"You seem so focused." Zander speaks with a slight chuckle. I jump in surprise and quickly turn towards the source.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, confused. Zander and I aren't exactly the best of mates. Very rarely do we ever have a one on one conversation. Our interactions are usually when the whole group is together or at least either Tee or Jax are around. I can count on one hand how many times Zander and I have had conversations without the others. Well I assume I can anyway. I don't actually know of all of the times, but I do know it rarely happens so I'm gonna say I can count it on one hand.
"Jaxton got caught up in vamp business and asked me to come talk to you instead." He starts.
"Talk to me about what?" I raise an eyebrow in confusion. What needs to be said that is so urgent it can't wait for Jax to be done?
"Well..." He looks hesitant to start and that is never a good sign. "We need to leave."
What?
"What are you talking about?" I ask, getting annoyed with him already.
"You, Tee, Jax and I all need to leave town. Now. We don't have any time to waste. The hunters are closing in on us." He tries to quickly explain.
"Zander, I don't see why we're having this conversation. Teegan and I have to stay here with the kids. Vampire hunters aren't after witches. They're after vampires. So we aren't in danger. You are." I say simply.
"So, you just want Jaxton to leave you here alone with your vampire hunter parents and all of their mates then?" He raises an eyebrow. A shiver runs up my spine at the thought. Then something clicks in my head.
"Wait. My parents are vampire hunters?" I ask, trying to grasp that concept.
"You didn't know? Yeah, they're not in town to get you back. They're in town hunting us. They want you back because you happen to be dating the very being that they want to kill." I take a deep breath, but just nod. Because that is more like them. I was wondering why they were around. I just wanted to believe that for once they actually wanted me.
"Either way, I'm not leaving. I have been pushed and pulled in every direction my entire life. Now, I have the choice and I am not letting anyone take that from me. The kids are here. Their new life is here. Their mates are here. And I will never leave them behind or make them up and move away from everything again." I shake my head. No way will I leave.
"Violet, this is bigger than all of that." He tries to explain, but I hold my hand up to silence him.
"Stop, Zander. I have made my decision. So either respect it or go argue to someone else. I am not leaving." I say, leaving no room for argument. He shakes his head, but disappears out of my room.
Zander has lost his mind.
I'm hoping that message got through to her.
'What happened?'
And that floods me with relief because she got the message.
He wants us all to leave.
'Is he bloody crazy? Why would we leave? The kids are happy here. Well as happy as they can be.'
