Lukas felt dejected as he thought of his younger brother and girlfriend, knowing that the three of them were inseparable only days ago. He could only hope that Mari would be able to pacify the little boy. He looked at the sundry of papers, his breathing starting to languish as he gave a wretched sigh. He did not want to leave them, but had no choice seeing as he had to travel for work occasionally. He had a copious amount of paperwork that he had to fill out. He was already deficient on sleep as it was due to his insomnia and was finding his boss more intolerable because of this. He noticed that his hearing and reaction time must have been heightened because he immediately began working, acting like he had been doing it the whole time. He rolled his eyes at the sound of his boss' cheerful voice, knowing he was making it intimate that he was not wanting to be here. He was more than glad for someone to notice his demeanor and interpose to get his boss out of the room. He knew he had the personal faculty to resist the temptation to call Mari just so he could hear her and Emil's voices. He didn't want to face the opposition from her if he called. He was glad that he was able to go back to the hotel and sit in the silence with a good book. It did not take him long to notice a bookmark that he had not put in the book, frowning slightly as he pulled it out from between pages. His frown became a benevolent smile when he saw that it was a fervent letter from Mari. He grabbed his phone and dialled her number, smiling even more when he heard the consternation in her voice.
"Hello to you too..." He whispered, a chuckle leaving his lips. He knew that they would be waiting for him and that he couldn't wait either.
(Bold words were the vocabulary words we had to do and I had so much fun writing this for class and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out)
