Lyles POV

"IS EVERYTHING IN THE BASKET?!" I yelled as I walked back into the lounge to see Isabelle and Odette sitting on the sofa, their phones in their faces as they looked hypnotised by what ever was on the screen. I watched them for a moment as I felt like something was wrong. It was normally me who couldn't take my face out of a book or my eyes off my phone but they used to only have an interest in each other when the other one was here so for both of them to be caught up on the obnoxiously bright screen as people gloated or moaned about their life or the world around them, well, it was strange.

"What did you say, Lyle?" Isabelle asked as I growled, not all that loudly to make me look manic but just loud enough for her to know she had annoyed me. "Is. Everything. In. The. Basket?" I asked, each word with a long pause in between as she rolled her eyes and Odette sighed before standing up. "I have packed everything I will need and all of the stuff we prepared last night is in the cooler for the barbecue. Isabelle hasn't packed anything as she doesn't need a change of clothes since she won't go in the water" Odette explained as she harshly looked at Isabelle. Something wasn't right between the two...

Odette helped me carry everything down the stairs as we placed it in the boot of my car before we waited on Leon. Denis and Ivy were meeting us at the quarry, James is his Grandmothers house, not allowed to go back to his mothers. "Who the hell are we waiting on?" Isabelle asked as I spun around, the loose white material of my dress flowing elegantly, a complete opposite to the anger I was showing. "DO YOU EVER FUCKING LISTEN? IN THE HOUSE I SAID WE HAVE TO WAIT ON LEON MEETING US" I snapped as Odette looked in between the two of us, unsure of what to do.

"Are you just going to let her talk to me like that?" Isabelle looked at Odette as she shrugged. "In all fairness, Lyle did explain it inside, along with many other things and you didn't listen. I'm not surprised she is pissed" Odette spoke calmly as Isabelle grunted before walking around the car and getting in the back, slamming the car door as I slammed the boot shut. "Thank you for that" I smiled softly at Odette as she smiled "Don't worry about it" before looking at her phone once again as it lit up and she smiled. "What is up with you?" I asked out of curiosity, knowing Odette would answer as Isabelle was in the car.

"Do you remember Cody?" she asked as I thought back the many years I have known Odette and all of her previous acquaintances. "Doesn't seem to ring a bell..." I muttered as I kept thinking but no Cody popped into my mind. "When we were at High School he was in my math class and we were like inseparable for three years but then he moved school. You never really spoke to him but I thought you would at least remember me talking about him? I had a crush on him and we were nearly at the point of dating but then he had to leave..." she explained it all as I heard alarm bells ringing.

"OH I REMEMBER!" I called out as my eyes widened. Odette cried for months after. "Well, he is back here and he is asking if we can meet up and have a catch up. He is with Felix right now" she smiled as another message popped up on her phone and I cringed at the mention of Felix. Oh yeah, they were friends. Cody was the year above but was in all of the mixed classes. Ah. Now I remember him. Cody and Felix were the favourites of the school. Felix was the bad boy who every girl fell in love with and Cody was the sweet and funny one who everyone liked but no one fell in love with because bad boy Felix took that place.

"Invite him to come with us" I suggested as Odette looked at me with wide eyes. "I'd love to but that means Felix will join and I know you would HATE that!" Odette ranted but I could see it pained her. She had missed him for so long and I am not allowing her to wait any longer to see him. "Invite him. I can deal with Felix. Besides, I doubt Felix will come near me when Leon is there" I encouraged Odette as she bit her lip in thought before nodding and beginning to type once again. "Yeah, he won't come near her. Not on my watch" I followed the voice as I turned around to see Leon standing behind me, winking as soon as our eyes connected. Today was going to be FUN.
