"And if you would all follow me, we can continue to the main room." Andy, the cheerful tour guide of Create-It Co said as we walked into the spacious main room. My group had been here for only thirty minutes and I knew that this place wasn't for me. I mean it seemed that only I and a couple of other people were the only ones not decked out in designer clothes, shoes, and from what I could smell, expensive perfume that was very fruity. The ones that weren't wearing these things seemed to have a bored expression like they'd rather be somewhere else. This was my expression as well, but at least my daddy didn't pay for me to be here.

"Now who can tell me what this room is called?" Andy called out. "The Get-It started Room?" A small voice called out from the back. I turned to see who it was, a chubby girl who looked like she had eaten too much ice cream over a break up.

As if reading my thoughts, Andy glared at me with a look of hatred. "Correct, Callie." Andy beamed at her. I rolled my eyes; don’t get me wrong I’ve always wanted to work here. Create-It Co. was responsible for some of the best inventions, games, paintings, architecture, and anything else that involved creating something new. Its interns and workers were the best and brightest. I'm somewhat of a computer geek; you could say I’m pretty decent at web and game design. My step-brother, Jeremiah was the one who got me the internship because some higher up owed him a favor. I was thankful but too prideful to accept at first, thinking that if I wasn't good enough to get in on my own account, then why should I let myself in on someone's favor?

"It's just an idea and you're so great with tech design that it will be a natural fit." Jeremiah had told me as we were sitting in his coffee shop when he first proposed the idea to me. That was Jeremiah, after he left high school he already had his plans in motion to open up a coffee shop, the only thing he needed was a bachelors degree in management to properly do it. "Beans" was open by Christmas the next year. Jeremiah was optimistic and always seemed to know just how everything would work out.

"Jeremiah, I just don't think I should, why do they want me now?"

"Are you still holding a grudge from high school?" He examined my face to see if I would look guilty. "No, of course not. It's been a year since high school so why would I still hold a grudge against those self-conceited jerks?" Ok, maybe I still had a grudge. But it was only because of the nickname they gave me because my name is spelled differently

"Okay, let's call roll, Thom-ass Adbury?" Andy called, snapping me out of my flashback. The group stifled laughs, jerks. "Thom-ass?" Andy asked again. "Here" I muttered loudly.

"Is that really your name?" Andy asked with a smile on his face. I was really starting to hate this guy.

"Yes, and its pronounced Thomas."

"My apologies. Thomass." As he finished calling roll I couldn't help but think about how much I resented my mom for adding an extra s to my name when I was born. This caused every teacher, every substitute, and every person who read my name tag to say my name horribly wrong. So from grades 6 to 12 my name was never said correctly by any of my peers. My computer became my best friend, and I became a social-hermit in high school, learning to judge others before they could judge me.

"Keri? Where is she? Keri!" Andy had finished roll call and was apparently trying to find some girl. Maybe this was my chance to get out, tell Jeremiah they still didn't want me after all. I began making my way to a door on the eastern wall when the most beautiful girl stepped out of it and I stopped dead in my tracks. This girl would make any supermodel feel self-conscious and because they didn't look like her. She had white blonde hair with bangs that would look dorky on anyone else but her. The rest of her hair flowed to her lower back and looked immaculate. She was tall, nearly taller than I was and her outfit had every guy in the room drooling. It was tight, with a lot of leg showing.

I suppose I gaped a little at her because all she said was "So you catch flies with your mouth open nowadays? Move." She shoved past me to where Andy was. "Ah, Keri! Will you please help me sort them?" Andy asked when Keri joined him at the front of the group. "Sure. Okay all you who want to invest in the company because you have no talent, follow Andy through those red double doors. And the rest of you who have what it takes to be here, follow me." The group split themselves up, not knowing what to do due to Keri’s rudeness. Why anyone would claim to have no talent was beyond me but off the people went.

I don't know what made me stay. Maybe it was me wanting to get revenge on Keri for her comment or maybe I wanted to follow through with my dreams for once in my life. So I joined Keri's group through the blue double doors.
