Untitled Part 4

     Dan fired off a few messages to Scarlett and Trevor, to keep them updated on what was happening with Jessa. The only times when she moved from her bed were when she needed to go to the bathroom to give a urine sample and when someone stopped by to take a couple vials of her blood to be tested. Once they were done, she attempted to settle herself back into a more comfortable position and rest some more. Dan would occasionally glance over towards her, to make sure she was alright, but he spent the majority of his time reading random articles on his phone.

     In what felt like hours since they had last seen the doctor, there was a knock on the door. Dan went over and opened the door. An ultrasound technician was pushing a large machine. "She's sleeping. I'll wake her."

     "That's okay, it'll take a minute for me to set things up." She went about organizing her equipment.

     "Jes! Hey Jes! Wake up. They're here to do the ultrasound on you."

     Jessa groaned. "I just fell asleep." She mumbled, slowly opening her eyes.

     "Sorry about that Jes, but on the bright side, maybe we can find out why you've been in so much pain lately."

     "I know."

      "Ms. Preston? Hi. I'm Peggi, and I'll be doing your ultrasound today." The cheery technician greeted her, then looked over her notes. "Let's see, the doctor wants me to scan your abdomen."

     "Yeah. It hurts right here." Jessa showed her where she had been feeling pain.

     "Okay, I'm going to need you to lower your pants a little and pull your shirt up, so I can get to your stomach."

     Jessa looked at Dan and blushed. "Uh..."

     "It's not like I haven't seen it before Jes." Dan winked at her.

     "Danno!"

     He smirked. "It's true."

     "I know, but still!" She wiggled her pants past her hips and her shirt up to just under her breasts.

     "The gel is usually warmer, but it might be a little cool." Peggi squirted a copious amount of the gel onto Jessa's torso.

     Jessa giggled. "Danno! It's almost feels like when you..." Jessa clamped her mouth shut.

     "I'm going to press a little bit, to see if I can get a clearer image." Peggi pressed the wand firmly onto Jessa's belly and began to move it around. She clicked a few buttons on her keyboard and moved the wand again. "Well, the good news is, the baby seems fine."

     Jessa sat up, causing the image to disappear from the screen. "The WHAT?"

     "Your baby. The baby's fine."

     "I'm not pregnant!" Jessa asserted.

     "Geesh Jes! You and Trevor wasted no time!" Dan chuckled.

     "It can't be! We only started having sex about two weeks ago!"

     "I'm sorry. I thought you knew! If you lay back down, I can measure the baby and tell you how far along you are."

     Jess laid back down. "You can't tell anyone Danno!"

     "See? We all told you to get seen!" Dan tried to joke and lighten the mood. He cringed when he saw the terrified glare Jessa was shooting back at him. He softly said to her, "Trevor's going to want to know." She squeezed her eyes shut.

     Peggi moved the screen so that Jessa and Dan could see it. "It looks like you're about five months along. Would you like to know what you're having?"
