The Bet (Betty & Archie)

"I'll pay you anything you want if you can get the biggest loser in this school to go prom and turn her into prom queen." Reggie offered to Archie.

"So it's a bet? I'll only do it, if you have to do something too." Archie replied.

"No no, you've just been dumped by Veronica and now is the time to move on." Reggie said holding his hand out. Archie paused until he shook hands with Reggie.

Archie straight away was on a hunt to find this girl, he had been looking for nearly a week until he remembered one girl from his English class. Betty cooper. He decided to approach her, what could possibly go wrong?

"Hey, it's Betty right?" Archie said.

"Uh... Yeah..." A shy Betty replied packing her books away.

"I was wondering if you wanted to come to prom with me?" Archie asked.

"Sorry, I'm busy." Betty said rushing out of the classroom. Archie realised that it was gonna take a lot more to take out Betty Cooper. She was the type of person that would rather study than go out and actually socialise with people. Even Archie just remembered that she had never been in a relationship let alone kissed a guy.

The next day...

Archie was in pops whilst waiting for his order to come out for him and his dad. He saw Betty sitting by herself getting some homework done per usual. He got up and sat opposite her.

"Hey." Archie said causing Betty to jump.

"What do you want?" Betty asked worriedly.

"Come to prom with me?" Archie said.

"How many times do I have to say it? No." Betty replied.

"Why not?"

"In-case you hadn't noticed, people like me don't 'hang out' with people like you. You're popular and I'm not... I'm just a person that no one notices." Betty said. Archie felt bad and guilty but he still wanted to win this bet.

"Come on, please, It'll be a good night and I'll even buy your dress for you. You can hang out with my people, just take a chance." Archie offered. Betty thought about it for a while before answering.

"Maybe, I'll think about it." She replied.

"Can I push that to a yes?" Archie asked.

"Mmm, like I said I'll think about it. Now go back to your dad and eat your food." Betty ordered. Archie listened and went back. He knew he had to persuade her even more so he asked for help from Reggie.

The next day Betty did her normal routine, get up, make breakfast and catch the school bus. As she came off the bus she walked into the main entrance but noticed something slightly different. Everyone was staring at her but she didn't have a clue why. She continued to walk forward until she got stopped by Archie. He gave her a rose whilst he pointed above him. She looked up and saw a huge banner hanging above her. It read;
Betty Cooper, Will you go to prom with me?

She gasped n shock, she couldn't exactly say no in front of everyone. It was the first time she even had that much attention. She looked back at Archie and finally said, "Yes, I will go to prom with you." She answered. The corridor was filled with cheering and applauding from the football team and students.

"How about we go out for a date first?" Archie asked.

"Pushing it..." Betty said walking towards her locker.

"Come on... remember take chances." Archie said leaning against her locker.

"Fine, where and what time?"

"Pops? Straight after school?"

"Fine... and you're paying." Betty said slamming her locker and going to class.

Somehow, Archie started to forget about the whole bet thing but Reggie reminded him every time he'd forget about it and say that 'the clock was ticking.' He needed to make Betty prom Queen eligible quickly otherwise he would have to pay up.
