"She's awake," some random man says as I open my eyes. They quickly adjusted to the light. I was in a small room, that was dimly lit. My hands were handcuffed behind my back and I was sat on a chair. There was rope going around the top half of me and my ankles were tied to the chair as well. I had tape over my mouth and there was one man stood in front of me. I was no longer wearing my cloak or my wig or my mask. Of course, my weapons were removed, the only things left on me was my earring and my catsuit.
"I guess we should start with names. I'm Vincent Oakley. You are?" He asks and he rips the duck tape off my mouth. I smirk and don't say a word. "Not speaking?" He says and he placed the duck tape back on my mouth. "Do you know who I am?" He asks and I shrug "I am the boss, the big man. I'm the leader of the mafia. You should start answering me because it won't be pretty what I will have my men do to you" He says and he rips the duck tape off my mouth again
"You too pussy to do it yourself" I smirk. I couldn't stop myself from being cocky it gets me into a lot of trouble most of the time. Vincent didn't like my tone and hits me in the stomach. I grunt at the punch then laugh. He puts the tape back over my mouth.
"I don't like to get my hands dirty. Not for scum like you" He says and I raise my eyebrow in amusement. "I'll send my guys in let me know when you're ready to talk," he says and he leaves the room. Two big guys come into the room with a cart. I look at the cart and see various tools. I close my eyes and when I open them I zone out quickly. I was taking deep breaths and my subconscious surfaces but I stay very much awake.

~Jade's subconscious mind~
I look around at my surroundings, letting my senses take everything in. I was stood in a forest somewhere the trees towering above me, swaying gently in the wind. The air was crisp, it must be early. I could hear birds chirping up in the trees.
"Jade?" I hear a voice say and I spin around
"Nick" I smile
"I was dreading this day," he says
"I'm scared," I tell him
"I know. You'll be fine." He reassures me. "Cute outfit," he says raising his eyebrow. I look down to see what he was talking about.
"I hate wearing orange," I say seeing myself wearing a bright orange dress with slits in the arms. I lift my hand up to my neck and felt the familiar hope star necklace. I gasp and go to rip it off my neck.
"No don't," a new voice says. I don't turn around.
"You're not dead get out my subconscious mind," I say holding back tears
"Stop thinking about me," she says and I turn around
"I can't,"I say
"Nicks wandered off," she says. I look around and notice he was gone
"He does that," I say as she walks closer, however, I take a cautious step back
"You're still mad?" She asks
"A little," I say
"It's just your subconscious," she says. Then I feel it, a jolting pain in my thigh. "Jade they injected you with pain enhancer," she says
"There's no such thing," I say grabbing my leg and leaning against a tree
"The mafia are ahead of its time. They made it themselves. That's why it hurts so much" she tells me
"Am I going to die down here?" I ask her
"You? Die? Never" she says and I giggle. "Your instinct for survival is stronger than anyone else I know," she says
"I was born gifted" I shrug
"Gifted, you remember everything you see, hear and read. You can tolerate more pain then humanly possible. Not to mention the fact you heal faster than the average human." She boasts about me
"You make me sound like a superhero," I say
"You are," she says
"I'm not. I don't heal that much faster." I say and she rolls her eyes.
"So Elijah," she says nudging me
"Shut up," I say rolling my eyes
"Come on tell me," she says. I let out a yelp
"Jesus Christ are they skinning me alive" I scream out
"They are just cutting you jade calm down," she says and I scowl at her.
"Elijah was hired as my bodyguard" I begin to tell her everything. Talking about Elijah took my mind off the pain that was slipping through into my subconscious mind.
"So you kissed him," she says excitedly
"Well he refused because of my parents," I say and she laughs. I bite my tongue and scrunch my eyes. "Jade maybe you should wake up and get your ass out of there," she says
"Not yet. I'm awake out there, my mind is taking in information. I will go out when the time is right" I tell her
"But you are in excruciating pain," she says
"I'm going to be in pain no matter what I do," I say
"What about Elijah he's probably worried sick about you" she pleads
"Yes And I know he's out there looking for me," I tell her
"Make it easier for him. Wake up" she says her voice getting fainter as she disappears.
"No don't leave," I say but she was already gone. I force myself to stand up straight. I take a deep breath in then I snap out of my subconscious. I had great timing because the men had left the room. I look down at myself but all I saw was a blur of blood. While I was alone I get to work to get myself out. I hold my breath while I snap my thumb. I slide my hands out of the cuffs then hold onto them. I didn't have time to snap my thumb back into place as Vincent came back into the room. He stares at me while I raise my eyebrow and smile
"How did you sit through that?" Vincent asks in disbelief. "Even some of my toughest guys can't sit through that," he says. Time worked differently in my head. They had done more to me then a few cuts.
"Most people's brains give up letting them die," he says. "You didn't scream once, sure a few groans, moans and grunts. You winced and flinched a lot but no screams. You barely moved, you just stared into space how is that even possible?" Vincent asks. He rips the duck tape from my mouth so I could speak.
"I had a great teacher," I say smugly
"Who taught you to do what?" He asks confused and I look up at him eyebrow raised and a smirk on my face.
