The day was unlike any other. "IIIIKE!!!" my dad yells, "You're late for your first day of high school."
"What?" I ask sleepily. "SCHOOL!!!" I then exclaim when I realize what he'd said. I change in a hurry, run down the stairs, and through the hallway. Suddenly I ram right into my dad's arm and land straight on my back, the force of me hitting the ground knocking the wind out of me.
My dad Jeff leans over me and says "You're so gullible."
When I finally start breathing again I ask "How old are you?''
"Thirty-one.'' he answers, puzzled by the question.
POW! I knock him on the head with all my might, the impact from my hit making a huge bump.
"What is wrong with you?!" I yell with anger.
My dad, rubbing his head, replied sadly. "You got to be less gullible and learn self-defense." He is always trying to teach me lessons, but it always ends up in tragedy.
"Well," I start "I got to get ready to go to school." I run up the stairs and comb my dirty blond bed-headed hair down until it was at least halfway decent. I make my bed, eat some buttered bread, and leave to go to my new high school. I am a transfer student this year and I'm ready to make new friends. "Off I go!" I yell at my dad.
"WAIT!" yells a familiar voice. It's my sister Kay. She is a ninth grader this year. I almost forgot. I'm in tenth grade, and I'm sixteen years old. She is turning fifteen this November. "Ike, I thought we could walk together." she announces.
"Yeah sure," I reply nonchalantly. When we get to school, I hear something sort of like a scream, a moan, or both. I tell Kay I'll catch up with her later, and I wandered off. I keep following the sound until I come to an alley. What I find there is horrific.
What I see is this huge monster waiting for me. It's a human-like figure, with long bloody razor-sharp teeth, black with red on its back, and it's all spiny like a porcupine. It has a hole in its chest. It's hunched over something that looks like a torn up dead body. I'm petrified. I can't move. Even worse, it's looking straight at me. Quivering in fear, I think to myself, am I was going to die? It has it's razor sharp teeth over my head ready to rip it off.
A shadowy figure shows up just in the nick of time. "HEY!" In front of the sun, it's hard to see, but it looks and sounds like a girl. "You wanna fight me instead?" and without warning, it lunges at her, but she dodges it. He lunges again, this time she pulls out a sword and slashes it's arm off. The creature roars in pain. It's so loud that I pee a little. She lunges at it this time, but the creature dodges it. She lands on a balcony of someone's apartment and turns to face the monster when suddenly the monster's arm attacks her. It knocks her over and she lands on the concrete, but by the time she gets up she's too late. The monster smacks away her sword and pins her back to the ground, ready to kill her. Without hesitation, my body moves automatically. I grab a trash can lid and throw it like a frisbee as hard as I can at the monster.
Donk! the lid did nothing but make it angry at me. It starts walking toward me. It was now five feet away from me. I turn around and cover my head as it takes its hand, raises it back, and slices its claws into my back. I fall to the ground. My blood stains the concrete.
It's ready to kill me now.
The last thing I see before passing out is that girl fighting the monster. The agonizing stinging in my back causes me to pass out.
To be continued...
