"The top grade on this week's test was a 105. That grade goes to Hye Yoon." The teacher says as she writes my name and my grade on the chalk board. The class claps and I blush. I should be used to the attention by now.
Once the teacher starts to announce our next assignment, everyone looks back up at her except one person because I feel their stare on the back of my neck.
"Taehyung, are you paying attention?" Ms. Kim asks.
"Ha, no." Taehyung says with a laugh.
"Alright, two hours of detention." Ms. Kim says before restarting her explanation of the assignment.
Taehyung groans when the bell rings while everyone else cheers and packs up to leave. Everyone files out of the room with me pulling up the rear.
"Oh, Hye Yoon. I wanted to speak with you." Ms. Kim says from her desk.
"Yes?"
"I need someone to help me teach the class tomorrow. I will not be here due to family reasons and we cannot get a sub. Will you please sub for me?" Ms. Kim asks as she sits on the edge of her desk. From the corner of my eye, I see Taehyung stand up and start to sneak out of the class, but I pay no mind to it. I'll let him go this time.
"I would love to." I say with a fake smile.
"Alright, I will leave the lesson plans here on my desk, please get here thirty minutes earlier so you can have someone unlock the door for you." Ms. Kim says with a smile. I bow and say my goodbyes before walking out in the hallway to find a couple up against the lockers.
"Excuse me, can you please move, that is my locker." I say with a kind voice, hoping it would get them to move.
"We're busy. Go home." The boy says before kissing the girl again.
"Excuse you, that is my locker, I need into it." I say, persisting.
"Alright, then you have to stay here and watch us finish." The boy, Taehyung, says as he looks up at me with a little lipstick smeared across his mouth.
"And what if I refuse?"
"Then I guess you'll be out of luck." The girl says with a menacing voice.
"Fine, you two have fun." I say, walking away, my binders still in my hand.
