*Ashton's POV*
"Yo Aiden, pass me a sprite." I called down as Aiden, Ryder, and I were all chilling as we walked around the school. We had a spare 3rd period and we usually just walk around the school or go out.

"So, about the party are y'all going or what?" Aiden asked and he took a big sip of his dr pepper.

"Did I ever miss a party, Aiden? Really?" Ryder raised his eyebrow, causing us all to laugh. "Stupid question to ask me."

"Honestly, true. I don't even know why I'm asking you." Aiden shook his head. "What about you Adams? You coming or what?"

"Nah, man. I got work tonight." I shrugged. They all looked at me with a 'bitch what the fuck' face. "What?"

"You honestly are so lame. Can't you just call in sick for one night?" Ryder chuckled. We continued walking down the hallway.

"I agree with Ryder, dude. Just cancel."

"Nah, I can't. Trynna make some clout, ya feel?" I laughed. "Money is all that matters."

"Lowkey the only reason Ash doesn't want to go is because he doesn't have a date to the party." Ryder laughed as if that was the funniest joke he has ever said in his life.

"Yup. That's definitely why. Boo boo." I chuckled at his silliness.

"Nah, for real. When was the last time you got into a relationship? I swear, your last boyfriend was in what? 10th grade? What was that guy's name again? Austin?" Aiden took another sip of his root beer.

I started laughing so hard. Austin? Really? "Dude who the fuck is Austin? His name was Max. No offence but I'd never date a guy with the name Austin. Austin and Ashton? That's gay." I laughed at myself. I mean, I am gay so I'm allowed to use that word as an insult.

I was openly gay in my school but at the same time, we live in the 21st century. Homophobia is still a thing? What's homophobia? Homophobia who? What? When? Where? How? My school was really opened to gays and lesbians and people that were part of the LGBTQ+ community. And even though I'm on the boys soccer team, they were all my friends and they all didn't care that I was gay. We all treat each other the same because we've technically grown up with most of the people on the team so we were like family.

As we were walking, this girl with black curly hair accidentally walked right into me. It looked like she was in a rush and dropped her books.

"Oh I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to do that at all." She stuttered softly and kneeled down to pick up her things.

"Hey it's cool. Lemme help." I also blended over and picked off her things from the ground. "Just because we look like your typical bad boy rude ass bully lookin jocks, I'm really nice. Don't be intimidated. Now you should probably head to class, you don't wanna be more late than you already are." I gave her a soft smile. The girl smiled widely back and nodded before running away.

"Grade 9s, man." Aiden laughed, shaking his head. "Who hurt them?"

"Honestly." I laughed at Aiden's joke.

"Oh shit, I forgot I told Ashley I was going to meet her at Tim Hortons during my spare. Adios fellas. See ya at practice?" Aiden said before rushing off.

"There's no practice today dumbass!" I yelled as he was running.

"Oh shit, k thanks!" He lifted up a thumb before disappearing around a corner. Ashley was his girlfriend. They started dating a month ago and he's been hella whipped ever since. But trust me, they're not going to last. He's a bit of a fuckboy.

Ryder and I kept talking about random shit as we were walking around. We talked about graduation and then talked about our huge soccer until there was a guy walking our way. I've seen him around before and we've had a lot of mutuals but we've never talked before.
