We were just kids: The beginning of all beginnings

First day

Osborne's:

"But Nancy do you really need to drive me up to school? What if you crash the car!" Charlie whined.

"I'm going that way anyway so you might as well come with me. And what makes you think I'm gonna crash the car?" Nancy replied, packing Charlie's bag.

"John Paul.."

"That was a complete accident and it shouldn't happen again"

"Besides, I'm starting high school. Which means that I'm independent. So-"

"Well Charlie, if you're so independent, maybe you should be packing your own bag"

Nancy took Charlie's bag off of the kitchen side and handed it to Charlie. Charlie stood looking and the bag for a few seconds, before taking it reluctantly.

"Chop chop" Nancy beamed and made her way up the stairs

Lomax's:

"Oi Lucas give me back my shoe!" Leah screeched, chasing Lucas around the living room.

"I'm sorry about those two" Ste was leaning against the kitchen counter. Tegan was sat across from him. "I promise we'll be out of your hair soon. It's just tha-"

"You better be" Peri stormed down the stairs.

"Oi, gobby" Tegan called, changing her focus to her niece

Peri sighed in disgust and went back upstairs

"It's fine. Stay as long as you need" Tegan's focus went back to Ste

"Αre you- Leah! Stop attacking your brother" Ste ran over to the arguing siblings

Osborne's:

"But what if I start freaking out or people start bullying me for being not quite a mute but extremely non talkative and all"

"Then they'll have me to answer to won't they" Nancy reassured, straightening Charlie's tie "you wanna go shout goodbye to Darren?"

Charlie rolled his eyes but walked to the bottom step and yelled a unenthusiastic "bye"

Lomax's:

"Leah, c'mon, you'll be late" Ste warned

"Oh and people will decide to bring up that my stepdad killed my mum, how great" Leah rolled her eyes

"Oh just come on" Ste pushed Leah out of the door and shut it behind him

——

Fifteen minutes later, outside the school gates:

"You're seriously getting Nancy to bring you to school" Leah sniggered, walking through the school gates and seeing Charlie get out of Nancy's car

"And your dad just happened to be walking by did he?" Charlie replied, looking over to Ste and awkwardly waving.

Leah sighed and walked past Charlie, knocking him to the side as she did so.

"I'm going inside. If you need me-"

"I know, I know. Nancy I'll be fine"

"Ok" Nancy sighed. She walked off into the school just as the bell rang

A few minutes later-registration-the entire form group were lined up at the back of the classroom.
