Chapter 6:

*Doctor's POV*

I didn't have a plan. I didn't even know what the Cybermen wanted, let alone how to stop them. This whole situation was wrong. They should have immediately killed me and taken Quinn when we were captured. The Cybermen don't take prisoners. They were merciless killers. The one in front of us was no exception.

"You will follow." It said. The barriers went down and we were left to trail behind. There was only one Cyberman, and it was leading us, which meant it couldn't see us. They believed that we wouldn't attempt to escape. We probably couldn't if we tried.

"Doctor, why is it holding a watch?" Quinn whispered, trying not to draw the Cyberman's attention. I hadn't even noticed the watch. It couldn't be what I thought it was, it just wasn't possible. I couldn't explain it to Quinn, not right now. "I don't know." I didn't like lying about it but now wasn't the time to explain everything.

We walked into an open room with more Cybermen. There were three on either side of the room, probably guards, and one at the front, ahead of us. It was obviously the leader, its helmet was mostly black. It was the only one that looked any different than all the other Cybermen. The one leading us stepped off to the side but didn't leave as we approached the leader. I would have to make something up and hope we wouldn't die.

"Before you kill us, or whatever, I think we deserve an explanation, because honestly I have no idea what's happening here and that doesn't normally happen." I didn't really expect the Cybermen to so generously offer an explanation because that would be completely out of charcter for them. But today was definitely one of those 'anything-could-happen' sort of days.

The room was silent for a moment before the leader spoke up, "We no longer have need to kill you. You will be upgraded into Cyber-form." This wasn't right, this was very not-right. "Hold on. You can't upgrade Time Lords, you don't have the technology. And besides, you would have to capture one first just to figure out how to convert them. And knowing how Cybermen work, they'd probably be dead long before you even came close. Not to mention you'd have to find one. I'm the last there is and you're afraid of me."

I turned to Quinn who looked like she was about to faint. This situation was like a puzzle and the pices weren't quite fitting together yet. There was something about her, like she wasn't here by coincidence. The Cyberleader spoke up, "We have another Time Lord. They've been here for a long time." At that moment, two other Cybermen came up behind us by surprise. We were both restrained and even more incapable of escape. The one holding back Quinn was the one carrying the watch.

The puzzle pieces began click together. This was about Quinn. That was her watch. She was the other Time Lord. The Cybermen were dragging us in opposite directions. "Doctor!" Quinn was shouting. She didn't understand, I hadn't gotten the chance to explain it to her, and I couldn't help her. I am probably responsible for this whole mess in some way. She just had the courage to follow along. I knew it could be dangerous, it always was, and I let her follow along anyway.

When I couldn't see her anymore I tried to question the Cyberman that was leading me. "What now? What's going to happen?" It refused to answer. Vaguely telling me that Quinn was a Time Lord was the extent of the Cybermen's generosity.

A few hallways later, I was locked in another cell. This one was different though. It actually had proper walls instead of a force field, there were no windows, and the only way out was a huge metal door with an electronic lock that was almost certainly guarded.

But it didn't matter. I wasn't alone anymore. I wasn't The Last of the Time Lords anymore. Quinn was the closest thing to family I had left and I would get both of us out of here alive, and no power in the universe could stop me.
