Chapter # 1: I'm the queen of the halls.

" You are not average. your completely everything. your not one thing, your multiple things" cherry tries to explain this to me everyday. The same lecture for five years. I know she's trying to make me feel 'extra-ordinary' but she don't know how it feels to be 'average'. " You could be whoever you want and you choose to be everything. Be proud that your not like 'them'." She finish the lecture by sticking her hands out and pointing at everybody around us. meaning that they where the 'them', that cherry was talking about.

After glaring at me, cherry left me alone in the thing called our high school cafeteria. Now before you get confused, cherry is not my friend. she comes up to me one day five years ago and starts that lecture. I guess she over heard me talking to myself and had to put a say in me and myself conversation.

anyways, after that day, she just keeps coming up to me and preaches. I don't know her real name but I call her cherry because of her hair. Dark bright red, it's absolutely pretty on her. I wish I was half pretty as she is. with my dull Hazel eyes, strait brown hair and round face, I look 'average' next to her. Who am I kidding, I look average next to everyone. even my friends.

Speaking of friends, were are they? I know it's easy to get lost at Misery High but dang. I mean how many years we been here? and how many times have we been in cafeteria?
It shouldn't be that hard!

As if on Que, Layla , Brent, and Vera came walking in. Now before anything else happens let me tell you that we aren't a normal group. Layla here is acutely the head cheerleader while Brent is the quarterback for our football team. Dear Vera over there is the school nerd. and me? Well.... I'm a little bit of everything.

In ever cliché story, the popular boy leaves the popular girl for the nerd, right? Well in my case , Wrong. that cliché monologue is what got us our friendship. Brent did leave Layla to be with Vera but turns out Brent didn't like nether of them. he's probably the most awesome gay guy ever. And how did I get throw into the mess? Well, I was the first person Brent ever told. So he kept me around. After they all decided to be friends they let me tag along but truthfully we will never be true friends. I think I have only one true friend. her name was Reagan. she is the only one, beside cherry, who knows about my average condition.

My thoughts were cut off by Layla sitting in front of me.
" Hey Penelope" that all I get from her. Brent and Vera just mummer quiet heys. it's all normal though. I'm like the 'tag along puppy' that you can't get Rid of. The process goes like this: first they talk and I listen. next I listen and butt in. then they all look at me weirdly and continue on talking. the usual.

* 2 hours later *

I'm heading towards Mrs. Rice citizenship class also know as my sixth   period. citizenship is one of my favorite classes (aside from band) and the only reason I like this class is for the people in it. Since the school don't have an honours CS, I'm in the same class with the delinquents.

I walked into the classroom and sat next to delinquent friend #1 and delinquent friend #2. we never actually learned each other names but I had to call them something.

" Hey it's average girl" delinquent friend #1 exclaimed. That's their name for me. I kinda like it.

" Hey guys" I smiled and continued on " you two ready?"

Delinquent #2 smirk at me "Mrs. rice worst students are back in action."

I smirk back at him " you know it" and I still wonder why Mrs rice hates us?

***

it only took five minutes of us annoying the crap out of her. I got sent in the hall while my two delinquent friends was sent to the office. I don't know why she let me off easy but I bet it has something to do with my doe eyes. I have that affect on people. just saying. I've actually never gotten in trouble that bad. I never been sent to the office or had detention before. I'm always just sitting out in the hall.

Oh my god, I'M THE QUEEN OF THE HALLS.

That's The biggest revelation since I leaned that there's was no way to make a "good" nickname out of my name. how exciting.

I must have spaced out for a long time because the next thing I know the school bell is ringing. now I have geography with Mr. Elmer. in a short unneeded conclusion, I love the teacher hate the subject.

***

Mr. Elmer is probably the most youngest teacher in the school. he's young, hot, and sort of available. now don't go jumping into conclusions. no, there is no student/teacher affair. well... not with me anyway. Mr. Elmer and Layla might have something going on that no one knows about. except for me of course. I kinda figured it out on my own though. So she has no idea that I know and I want to keep it that way. I want to be a great friend to Layla and if I have to kept her biggest secret to myself. then I will but for now let's get through his class.

***
After Mr. Elmer's class, it free period for me. so usually I go home and enjoy my wifi. *cough* I mean... my family. but alas, today feels different and abnormal.

I actually want to go to the school library.

the weirdest thing ever.

A/N
OK first chapter done. how did you like it? should I continue or go back to the other book? what do you think of Penelope and her loneliness? how about all the clichés? All I have is questions and questions and I would love for you to answer them. but for now lets talk about the back ground of how I made this story. I'm so tired of clichés and other nonsense. that I decide to make them all around a person. Reagan is both of my best friends names combined. I would dedicate this chapter to both of them if I could. I think that's it for this chapter. please write your opinions.
