I couldn't see it coming. A gunshot, then nothing. Death is so sudden at times we can never process what happens. Life, we take it for granted most of us, only to truely cherish it when we come face to face with Death. I had a family till all of them died. Most from an illness that is common in our family. Others including me from killers. I'm leaving so much behind. My wife, my only brother, and me best friend Zach. But will they miss me? As I find myself lying on the ground I began to think. As my blood was leaving my body I thought what if I left this world and no one even cared. "You don't deserve death. I will bring you back to life. Trust me." Someone said but I couldn't see who said it. I was worried and confused by then. Not know who said that, and what they actually meant by that. As I blacked out, I caught myself coming in and out of it.
As I finally came to, I found myself in a strange place. Something, like those laboratory's you see on T.V. But it wasn't fictional, this was real. And I somehow didn't feel real. I felt different. The pain I felt moments ago, has magically disappeared.
All I remember was dying. Was it a dream? Am I still dreaming?
"Ah, so you have finally awoken. How was your slumber?" A voice came from a far. Slowly getting louder, as a shadow approached. "You know you've been out for a while. A year to be exact." At this moment I would feel shocked. But... I couldn't feel my emotions. It's as if they all left. "Don't fret, all will be told... In time... But for now there is still work to be done..."
Should I feel frightened... Should I be having anxiety? Maybe... I don't know... I was dead... I think... No I know I was... Was I?
