Chapter 1

My name is Maddie Hatings, I live in Austin, Tx. I live with my mom and my older brother since my parents are divorced. 

It was 5:30am, I was getting ready for my first day in high school. I was kinda nervous since my school was new, I mean I had some of my friends there but I was nervous for the school system. Anyways, I changed into some black jeans, a dark greenish shirt and a denim jacket. I then, washed my face, put some mascara and lotion on and headed down to the kitchen. I had a bowl of cereal, washed my teeth and waited on my phone for my friend to go to school. It was barely 6:15am. I just played on my phone while i waited for my friend.

//15 MINUTES LATER//

I got a text from my friend.

Sam: Heeeey, I'm out front.  You ready? xxx

Me: Kk, out in 5. xxx

I put on my white converse, grabbed my backpack and got out. Her mom took us to school that morning. When we arrived, they told us to go to the auditorium and take a seat. We did as told. They gave us a 1 hour conference about what's gonna happen during the day and all that stuff. At the end, they gave everyone their group. Luckily, I was in the same group as my friend. 

//3 HOURS LATER//

It was finally lunch time, Sam and I went downstairs and looked for our friends and my boyfriend. We just sat on a couch and talked about our new classmates. I felt really weird since, I didn't use to get along with some of them, only my boyfriend Rich and Sam. Plus, my best friends Camille and Sidney went to different schools.  Rich and I started dating a month before school started so, we where still getting to know each other. But, at times I felt weird around him, I don't really know why. I think it's because I wasn't with anyone for a whole year. I felt out of place, either ways I still tried, always telling him my problems and my hobbies. 

Anyways, the first day of school finished. It wasn't that bad, although at some points I missed my friends and all that bullshit. I walked to my grandmas, since it was like a 10 minute walk. I told her all about my day, what I did and how it's like. She have me something to eat. My mom then called me and told me she was outside so, I graved my stuff, told my grandma goodbye and headed out. I just did my homework afterwards, and took a shower for the next day.
