A long road trip lies ahead, and I'm just waiting to be set free in grandma and grandpas new residence.
"So, you guys have a back yard that goes into the forest?" My 11 year old sister, Elise, exclaims. My grandparents are loading up the car, meanwhile I'm sitting in the passenger seat of the truck with headphones in, staring at my phone. As much as I'd like to see their new home, I'm not looking forward to the long drive, and annoying little sister babbling and not shutting up for the 7 hour drive.
"Dean, pumpkin, go and get Miya's suitcases, please?" My grandma asked.
"Sure thing." My 15 year old neighbor, Dean responds. He's coming along to, for some unknown reason. I didn't want his noisy butt scrambling through my suitcase and belongings, so I insisted on getting it myself.
"No, grandma..I can get it." I quickly yank out my headphones and rush into my room. He follows me as I pack up the rest of my clothes.
"Hi. I could've gotten it for you." Dean says, as he leans against the doorway.
"No. Thanks, I'm fine. Just go." I respond, I guess he could tell that I was a bit moody.
"Miya, just drop the crap, Alright? I'd like to come with you and your family, but I mostly came to hang out with you in this trip and I don't want you to be acting like this the whole way. We're all stressed out!" He exclaims, tilting his head.
"Just mind your own business.." I know I could be quite nicer, but this is a lot to handle. Just thinking of all the packing, and the fact that it was so last minute.
"..Pshh." He quickly shuffled out the room. I finish packing and bring it outside.
I see Elise at the corner of my eye chasing after Rocky, our fat cat.
"Aww! Can we take him?" She shouts, as he scrambles off under a bush.
"No, cats cannot go in cars for that long, hell through a fit! And we might loose him there." I reply, doesn't she know anything?
"I wasn't asking you, your not the boss." She shoots me a poker face. Wow, what the heck is wrong with that brat. Shouldn't she be respecting her older sister?
As she walks up to beg my grandparents instead, I grab her coat and yank her to the side.
" Um, yes I am the boss of you. And don't bug grandma and grandpa, okay? There under a lot of stress and they'll just say no." I say, scolding her.
"Let go of me! Your not the boss!" She says, throwing a fit. I cannot put up with her at all. Dean walks by and fortunately helps me out.
"Hey, Ellie, you'd better listen to your older sister. She has way more control over you then you think." He glances at me and finishes what he was doing. She shuts up, and just walks off. She doesn't like be scolding by people who aren't family members.~~~~~~~~
" Okay, we're almost done packing. Why don't you and Dean get your bikes and bring them? You can go on bike rides at our place, your both the same age." My grandpa says.
"Okay, Mr. Wilson." Dean responds and gets our bikes to load them on the car.
