Kurt POV
I'm getting some snacks for movie night when I hear people fighting. I walk closer to investigate. Then I hear someone say something along the lines of Mutant/freak of nature. I drop my things and run over to the entrance of an alleyway and see a bunch of drunk men punching and kicking someone on the ground. I growl and switch off my Image inducer revealing my dark fur. Then, Bamf. I'm in the middle of them. "It's-it's a demon run!!!" They run away quickly but not before I get a few swings at them. I then hear a small groan, I turn and see a girl with pale skin and messy dark hair, curled into a little ball. "Are you ok, miss?" I ask gently shaking her. She winces and lets out a small whimper. I quickly realize she must be more injured than I originally thought. I'm about to pick her up when I notice a backpack nearby. I pick it up and a picture falls out, it's the girl with a boy who's almost a head taller than her with rust colored hair and light brown eyes. I quickly stuff it back into the bag and sling it over my shoulders before going back to the girl. I manage to pick her up without injuring her further but before I can decide where to take her to a hospital or the institute she shifts in my arms and let's out a sharp hiss and shocks me. Literally, I feel a small but strong electric shock. I caused her hair to fizz up but she is otherwise unaffected. I'm about to fall on my butt but I manage to bamf over to where I dropped my snacks by accident and manage to regain my footing. Institute it is! I think to myself as we bamf away. I nearly fall over when we come out on top of a roof. The Institute is too far to take in one go especially with a hurt passenger. But as I try to readjust my grip, I notice her big, surprisingly light (almost purple-ish) gray eyes are open. Unfocused and only about halfway but open. She squints as if trying to see me better. 'W-who are?' She croaks, before a small coughing fit. Is she sick too? I wonder worriedly. "A friend, please let me help you,' I say, pleadingly as I notice her struggling to keep her eyes open and/or possibly focus them to see me better. Then I realized I never turned my image inducer back on. She opens her mouth but a cold biting wind cuts her off. She shivers and tries to bury her face in the crook of my neck. Her soft breath tickled a little but for some reason I kind of liked it. "Indi." She whispered. "Vat?' I asked, choosing to leap across the small gaps between rooftops than scare her with bamf-ing right now. "C-call m-me I-indi." She studdered before going slack in my arms. I panic for a second before realizing she just passed out, most likely from pain. I sigh in "relief" and pull her closer to me as we bamf the rest of the way. As we do I think about what she said. Indi, I think to myself as we land in the infirmary, scaring Herr Logan and Storm before they noticed the unconscious girl in my arms and I explain what happened as I set her down on the nearest cot. What an interesting name. I look down at the newest mutant in town. When she slept she almost looked like she was at peace, that is if her brow didn't keep scrunching up. I frown. I understand people attacking or being scared of me but her? She reminded me of an angel, her face youthful and timeless, her eyes kind and innocent. I bow my head in silent prayer. I hope we can be friends, Indi. I'll be praying for you til you wake up. I give her hand a gentle squeeze before leaving and dimming the lights. All that's left now, is to wait. Rest well, Indi.
