Oliver Hook sat up in his bed, leaning against the headboard. He stared at the wall in front of him.. oh how he hated that wall. There was so much history to do with it. All the fighting and screaming and breakdowns that that wall had witnessed. Oliver’s eyes blurred as he continued to stare, anger growing furiously inside him. He blinked back a tear, shook his head, and simply smiled. He suddenly threw the covers off of himself and jumped out of bed. Whilst putting on some red flannel pajama pants and a black tank top Oliver made his way into the hallway and threw on some slides. He quietly shut the apartment door behind him and continued to the building's main stairwell. He then made his way to the roof of the building. No one was supposed to be up there, but at this hour it was unlikely he would be caught.

As he walked out onto the roof the cold November air seemed to slap him in the face. He lied down right in the center of the area and stared upwards. It was nearly two in the morning on a Wednesday night and Oliver was wide awake admiring the sky. For some reason, that rooftop had the most beautiful view of the stars and moon. Oliver lived for this; the sky and the moon. They gave him hope. Hope that one day things might change. The door to the building opened and Oliver jerked his head towards the door to see who it was.

“Oli, again?” It was his 16-year-old older brother William, or Will. He was about an inch shorter than Oliver at 6’1 despite his being older and had dyed his originally blonde hair a pastel blue. He had one ear pierced and barely ever went without his dumb diamond stud in. Oliver, unlike his brother had dark brown hair and wore glasses. He was rather tall at 6’2 inches and was 15 years old. Oliver was more slim and lanky where Will was much more built. The two of them no longer looked much like brothers other than their sharp jawlines and purple-green eyes.

Oliver rolled his eyes and didn’t answer Will.

“You come out here almost every night. Why do you put me through this?” Will was noticeably tired tonight.

“I needed some fresh air.” Oliver stood up. “Why do you follow me out every night anyway, if it bothers you so much you should just stop going after me.”

Will just shook his head. “Come on.” He pulled Oliver up. “We have school tomorrow.” Oliver, although unwilling, followed Will back to the apartment and eventually fell asleep.
