Chapter Twenty Six

Alyssa stayed for lunch and offered to help me open up with my parents and siblings. We all went to the living room to chat. Little did they know that I was about to make a grand announcement. How would they take it? I will find out soon.

"Mom... Dad... thanks for the trip to Korea," I started.

"How was it, dear? Did you enjoy?" Mom asked beaming at me.

I nodded. I know both my parents are happy that the trip is a success and it did me well. And here I am about to break their hearts again. How to start?

"We told you. You needed that break," Dad added.

"Did you meet someone new?" Amie asked smiling.

"Well, I actually did. I met the kindest and sweetest guy," I said feeling the uncontrollable galloping of my heart.

"Replacement for Zeke?" Andrea asked rolling her eyes. My little sister really has a thing for Zeke and me ending up still together. When she grows older and becomes more mature she will understand. I hope.

I shook my head saying, "I am not really ready for anything yet." Though deep in my heart I want to shout yes. No one could be better than my Calix.

Andrew was just quietly listening to each of us as we speak.

"Guys, I found out something while I was at Korea..." I started.

"What?!" They all prodded in unison.

I am totally nervous now. I looked down and took a deep breath. "Well, I was six weeks pregnant then, maybe seven by now," I said and felt tears run down my cheeks.

I saw Dad shook his head and his eyes are so angry. Mom rubbed his back before she stood up and walked heading to me.

"Why?" Mom muttered displaying her surprise and disappointment; then her tears started falling. Alyssa stood up as if preparing herself to calm my parents once they burst. I can see the surprised look of my siblings as well. All their eyes are widened and jaws dropped.

I was readying my face for Mom's slap instead I felt she embraced me. I cried harder and I can feel my shoulders shaking. Mom tightened her grip on me as if steadying me. Everything was a blur after that. But what is clear is that even if I know I have disappointed them I still felt their care for me. Even Dad's angry face was easily replaced with a concerned fatherly look. My Dad and each of my siblings also stood up and came to me and we group hugged.

Alyssa went home after and I went to my room to rest. Baby, we did it! I am so happy our family is supportive of us. I told my baby as I caressed my tummy and went to bed. I saw my cell phone blinking signaling a new message received.

Calix: How are you babe? Missing you big time.

Calix: It's becoming your habit not replying to me.

Me: Already told my family. They are supportive. Yey!

Calix: About baby? ...and me?

Me: Baby first. I mentioned you too though.

Calix: What's your plan?

Me: Still thinking. The father has the right to know, huh?

Calix: Sigh... guess my love for you isn't enough.

Me: I appreciate that... it's just that Zeke has the right to know I think.

Calix: Ouch! Even more painful with the name.

Me: Calix, you know that I really appreciate you.

Calix: Tell me about it.

Oh my! Calix is too cute acting jealous and hurt. Or is he really? Should I tell him now that I love him? But I am not yet sure how things would go when I tell Zeke about the baby. So I have to hold back a little more.

Me: Calix, please. I know you understand me.

Calix: Yes, babe. Sorry, love.

Me: Thanks as always.

Calix: See you soon I hope.

Me: I'd like that.

Calix: I will plan a trip going there, babe. I so want to kiss you.

My heart went beating so fast again with Calix's words. I am so excited to hug and kiss him too. This must really be love. Just hold on. We will get there.

Me: I'd like that even better. No. I'd actually love that.

Calix: Hugs and kisses to you babe and to baby. All my love for you two.

He is truly the sweetest guy I have ever met. He sends me messages every day. And calls to check on me and baby. I am so lucky to have met him. Really really lucky that he even wants to be a part of my twisted life. Oh if he only knows how I fondly called him Mr. Brusque the first time we met. If he only knows that he was that guy always in my dreams. If only.

Mom made an appointment the next day for us to visit her OB. She said we have to check on baby's condition since I have gone through a lot lately. I am so happy that they have accepted me and baby. Will just now plan how I would face Zeke. That is if I would. Okay, I will make sure baby is okay first before I deal with the complications.
