KIM EUNBI

ow...

i fluttured open my heavy eyes. in front of me was a large lake. i darted my eyes around before sitting up.

what the-

"stand up. slowly." a low voice demanded from behind. despite my weak legs, i stood up as the man told me.

"turn around," i turned around to meet eyes with a tall man with dark hair. why is he wearing traditional clothing?

"walk in front of me," i knit my eyebrows together as i walk on a path. every now and then he warned me of a rock or twig.

before too long he had led me to a large, traditional styled house. he beckoned for me to follow him.

as i stepped inside, i was met with a group of men. they whispered between themselves before the man who led me here spoke up.

"i found her near the lake. i think she's a spy."

"a-a spy?! you've got to be kidding me! i don't even know where i am! i'm tired, i'm hungry, and i'm confused!" i blurted out. i crossed my arms in a huff.

"what a strange woman," a man near the back shouted. i gaped my mouth open, "well! i'll have you know-"

"enough," a calm voice yelled from across the room. "woman, what is your name?"

"excuse me? my name is kim eunbi! i'll have you know! you have some nerve to call me strange, you!" i yelled at the top of my lungs, pointing in random directions.

i slowly caught my breath as i stood awkwardly in the front. "i'm leaving! sorry if you think i'm a spy, but i just wanna go home," i began to walk away, but a large man stood in front of me.

"fine then, if you want to keep me here, what're ya gonna do to me?!" i turned and crossed my arms again. one of the men handed me a sword.

i held it still, the heaviness weighing my arms down. "what is this supposed to mean?" i dropped it onto the ground as i stretched my arms above my head.

"so, you aren't a spy?" i gave an exasperated expression to them. i shook my head violently. "then why are you here? dressed like that?"

i looked down at my dress, which stood out between everyone else. "this dress was expensive! don't insult me, and i don't even want to be here!"

"stop yelling so much, geez you wench!" i gasped, raising my fist towards the voice.

_______

a smaller man had led me to a smaller room to stay in. i sighed, "why is everything here so old fashioned," i muttered under my breath

"old fashioned? what do you mean?" he asked, coming to a stop in front of me. "it's 1394, you must be from somewhere else if you think this is old fashioned!" he let out a hearty laugh.

"there are clothes on your bed. change quickly," he led me into a room. i still couldn't wipe the shock off my face as he closed the door.

how did this even happen? ugh..

i changed quickly, my heart beating faster than i could process any thoughts. i sat on my bed in awe, tears falling down my cheeks.

the sun had set quicker than i thought it could. i laid down and closed my eyes; though sleep never came to me.
