John Davis of the 23 infantry battalion he was a fateful medic and now they were on one of there landing crafts.

Landing craft 11-16 was quieter than the locker room before training other than all the gun fire from above it was pretty quiet. Than Eathen Harrison had
vomited all over me leg I almost vomited myself. I made sure my thompson was fully loaded medkit at the ready. The leader of our battalion stood up and said. Get ready Yanks we're going in on our own conditions our own guns our own ammo this will be a bloodbath and if we die today at least we are going to die for our country! I closed my eyes and breathed in deep this battle would be told to be the most brutal battle in the history of the United States other than before pearl harbor. As we hit the shore and the gate fell it was the worst thing I've ever seen thousands of men laying dead wounded or disabled when I mean disabled I mean disabled. I had one soldier clinging on to my leg screaming. Don't go out there you will die! Gah get off me! He continued to hold onto my leg. I fell on my back his bloody hands on my chest. Then I felt something peirce through me. My eyes opened wide as I looked at the red spot on my leg. The man who was clinging onto me had bled to death. I layed there looking at his lifeless body. My hands trembled at the sight. Get up soldier! I heard from behind me. It was the leader of my battalion he was with a fellow medic. We can't stay on this bloody beach we'll all die! Get the man back on his feet! He yelled to the medic. He wrapped my leg and put something underneath it. It stung like hell.
He helped me up. Get back I the fight and remember your doing this for your country! I looked towards the cliffs many where already on top. The rapid machine gun fire was making my ears thump. Or maybe that was all the blood pumping out of me.
Hey Davis get the hell over here! I ran over. Get up this rope now get the fudge up that cliff! I grabbed onto the rope and went up one by one. Once at the top I joined the few others in the trench. A few Germans were shooting towards the cliff. Most were running for there lives.
