There was a deafening growl and a rush of wind that knocked my flying, hitting my head of a tree. My eyes flew open to see what the heck was going on. Was the wolf going to throw me around like some football for a bit of fun before it killed me? If it was then I was not going to play ball.
But what I saw shocked me further. Another wolf, with golden fur had launched itself at the dark one. Ok, this is going to get confusing - lets call the dark one 'Ric' and the golden one 'Owen'. Both were facing each other, growling menacingly. Why had 'Owen' stopped 'Ric' from attacking me? Or was he just doing that so he could have a go at me himself? I didn't dare to hope.
Owen turned his head around to face me and I could fully appreciate how beautiful this creature was. All fear evaporated. Then it did the thing I least expected it to do, it winked at me. The gesture reminded me so much of the short new comer at school. 'Owen' had the same colour fur and the eyes. Again why was it the eyes that kept reminding me of people? Anyway, I thought wolves had brown eyes. Obviously not.
Without the adrenalin of fear, my head started to throb. I raised my hand to my tender head and felt something sticky matting my hair. My blood. A wave of nausea overcame me and my eyesight started to blur. I could feel darkness starting to creep up on me. NO, I didn't want to close my eyes; I didn't want this to happen. But my body had other ideas. The last thing I heard was a cry of anguish from Owen.
