Chapter 1||The Crush
Should I tell him? Is it the right moment? My head keeps swirling around the thought this whole morning and I cannot control it.
"Do you have a crush on someone?" I ask with expectations of a name as a reply.
"No..." Sam hesitates.
"Why are you suddenly asking this? Do you have a crush on someone?"
I am yet not convinced whether to tell him or not, plus there is Victor too with us. Victor simply acts as if he doesn't care but his presence makes me conscious.
"Yes," I say in a confused tone.
"Who is it!" Sam exclaims.
I don't feel like revealing it in front of Victor so I tell him, "You will come to know."
It is a usual Monday morning when our college starts at 11:30. The first subject is Math, and yeah it is the worst subject.
Like always I sit beside Sam and remove my bag.
"Do you remember what we did last time in Math?" I ask.
"You think I pay attention!" We both laugh.
A short Middle aged woman explodes through the door, there she is the math teacher. She screams in her thunderous voice, "Sit down everyone!"
Her voice cracks a lot and it is vexatious.
Victor isn't with us he is in the other batch. My class is divided into 2 batches 30 in each and Victor is in the first 30's while I and Sam are in the next batch.
"Can you pass me my book?" I hesitate as I point towards my bag because of the cold temperature of the A.C. Sam passes me my Math notebook in which I start writing what the teacher teaches us in the lecture.
I can't focus on studying, the thought of her gets me head over heels. I am not totally in love but I like her a lot! I just keep thinking about her and how much she means to me.
Should I tell Sam about her? He seems like a really nice guy and a trustable one too, and I say trustable because of my past experience. My first impression of him is that he's very shy but friendly. And it isn't even 2 months after college has started, am I even sure about my this sudden attraction towards her? I have so many rhetorical questions in my mind, I know the answers to all but cannot confess. I think I shall wait and tell him when the time is right.
It is 1:30 and the lecture for over. lunchtime has started, we head towards our classroom where we see Victor waiting on the third bench. Behind him are some new faces I haven't seen before.
I don't pay much attention and think of playing some music. I look for my earphones but then I remember that I have forgotten them on my desk at home. So I start playing music loudly hoping people would like my taste in music. Suddenly I hear two guys singing the lyrics from behind and they certainly enjoy it! I am fascinated and ask them their names one of them says Rijli and the other one says Noah.
"Hi Rijli and Noah I am Nick," my hand goes forward for a handshake. We shake hands and share our interests in music. We start talking about old as well as new songs. It is really fun.
I expected Rijli to be an arrogant and an angry type of a person but he seems pretty sweet when you actually speak with him. Noah looks like a gangster but I didn't have a proper chat with him so didn't get to know him much.
It 2:30 already and we head towards the computer lab. Our basics in computers teacher like always is late so we surf the web. After 10 minutes she bursts open through the door and gives an experiment to solve on Microsoft Word. Sam and I sit beside each other and we start finishing the assignment. We did some mischeavious things too, like formatting the disk drives, changing the wallpaper, etc.
Once I change the wallpaper to a very funny picture and we laugh so hard like a volcano erupting. One hour wad over and we realize that the lecture is almost over so we decide to let aside the jokes and finish the assignment. Once we finish it we have to email it to the teacher and once we are finished with all of it we are free to go.
By 4:00 we complete the assignment and submit it, we give our attendance and leave the classroom. The next lecture is at 4:30, so we have half an hour left. We go down to buy some refreshments. I think that Sam would ask me when we go down that who my crush is so prepared an answer but he simply seems to have forgotten it. We buy ourselves some refreshments and head towards the engineering drawing room. We set up all our equipment and wait for time to pass. We talk about starting a project sort of a thing which we will discuss about later on.
Finally it is 4:30 And all the other students start coming one by one.
I know why I started disliking Victor, he just started becoming annoying. He wants to know everything about everyone. From today I decide to ignore him and stop talking much with him and I am sure that I'd do this cause the water has gone way above the head.
In E.D. (engineering drawing) we start with our first sheet called engineering curves which is not that easy presently.
The tutor is pathetic at teaching and she can't give attention to the whole class. With her, there are two more professors who seem ruthless and despicable. They both just stand there not helping anyone or instructing anyone properly. When we ask them our doubts they would give a very vague answer or tell, "what has your teacher taught? Do it!"
They are infuriating!
In the whole lecture we try figuring out how to draw the first thing called elipse. Finally after 2 hours at 6:30 the lecture ends and we are left to go home.
I have made some other quite fine friends and wave them goodbye. I head out of the campus with Sam and Victor and we go to the train station in a tiresome and silent rikshaw ride. We are drained because of the last lecture where we tried really hard figuring out how to make it ourselves cause we have lost hope on the teacher as well as the professors.
We reach the station and wait for a local train to come till then we chit chat about some things that happened during the day where Victor is doing most of the talking so I ignore it.
As the train arrives we climb on and luckily it isn't full and we get a seat. We sit and lay there in silence. It is a little awkward but it is relaxing and soothing. I remove my phone and start doing some time pass on it.
We wait for our stop to come finally came lane pare station where Sam gets off we say our farewells and then the train goes on. After one more station comes malt cail station where Victor has to go I just wave and he leaves. Finally comes my stop grand rail station and I get off.
I call my driver Denis and he says that he is busy with my sister so I think of going home walking. On the way I call my cousin Hailey to ask her weather she is free at the moment and her house comes on the way so I think of meeting her.
Hailey is my favourite cousin she is some months younger than me but we both have many things in common so we both go together. We share everything with each other and sometimes share secrets.
"Hello, are you free to meet me today?" I ask hoping a yes.
"Yes, but can you come up at my house rather than meeting under my building?"
"Ok, I don't mind." I say.
I get excited to meet her so I walk faster towards her house.
Ting-Tong I ring the bell and she opens the door greeting me in. I go in and sit near the window for sometime and then we talk. She asks me about a person called Harrison. He is from my school and I kind of know him.
"Are you thinking of dating him?"
"He asked me out and I haven't replied yet." She hesitates.
"Where did you'll meet?" I question demanding for an answer.
"At an event called immaculata." She explains.
"I don't know him properly but he does not seem that great, he is a loner in school and is a little weird."
"Can you get information about him?" She asks eagerly.
"Ok I will try, but give me some days."
I think that I should tell her about my crush.
"I recently have a crush on someone." I cough and she looks at me eagerly.
"Who's it?"
It is already 8 And it is time for me to leave.
"I'll tell you later. " I explain.
I tell her goodbye and leave for my house. It takes me around 15 minutes to walk it up to my house. I reach home and put my bag on my bedroom floor. I freshen up and ask mother for dinner. I eat dinner then watch television and check my Instagram and YouTube and decide to go to sleep.
