I wake up to an annoying noise, the same as every other morning during the week. I always set around five alarms, and snooze threw at least two. Today, I look out my window, I turn my head to the right, and notice that it is already light out, And scramble to get out of bed, to go make breakfast. I run around my room gathering clothes and my back pack. I hear my mother walking down the hall.
" Mercury, are you almost ready dear?"
" Yeah mom! I'm hopping in the shower, I'll be 10 minutes."
" Okay hurry dear!"
I shower and then dry my hair the best I can. I throw on my tank top, and coat with my dark jeans, and shoes with socks. I almost dash out the door without my glasses, hitting the doorway in the midst of grabbing them.
" Fuck," I murmur as I run down stairs, and out to the car.
My mother sits in the passenger side, waiting for me to get into the drivers.
" what time do I need to pick you up mom? I have to make dinner around five, before your night shift."
" I might just stay all the way threw, I'll grab something to eat there. The other nurses said the new food in the cafeteria is actually pretty great."
" Okay, I guess I'll see you tomorrow. Bye have a good day at work."
" Bye sweetie, I'm sorry that im working so much again. We can hangout maybe this weekend."
I drop my mother off at the hospital on Avenue Street. Then head off to school. I get all my feelings out by singing whatever is on the radio, and prepare myself for school. I almost pull into the parking lot, and remember to shut off the radio. I don't want to be caught singing, because everyone around me here. Thinks I'm mute.
