" Delilah, who the hell is that!?" Joey said angrily.

"Beau." I said quietly.

"Why is he with you?"

"Joey, he saved my life. I couldn't leave him there."

Joey didn't respond. A couple of minutes later "Once we get there were starting training and a schedule. All of us will work on something."

We all nodded, Beau looked to me "So, are these your parents?"

I let out a laugh and Angela shot me an angry look. "No, they're just people I ran into. They're very nice."

He just nodded. I looked out the window and already there was so much destruction, this had just started and it already started to take over the world.

" Joey, where are we going?"  I asked

"We're going to our house." He said gesturing to Angela and him. "We have 8 acres of land, most of it wooded. The driveway is a couple miles long and it's surrounded by woods as well."

After a 30 minute drive, we arrived at the driveway, another 5 mins and we were at the house. A two story house sat in an open space, a small chain link fenced in area filled with chickens and ducks was to the left of the house, and to the right of the house was a small garden, and behind the chicken coop was a larger fenced in area with pigs and their small shelter towards the back of the pen.

When we all got out of the car a young boy and girl, both blonde with blue eyes, ran out of the house and into Joey and Angela's arms.

Angela looked to us "this is our son, James, he's 10. And this," she said taking the girl in a hug. "Is Joan, she is 7."

She looked to us "And this is Delilah and Beau, they're going to stay with us for a while." I smiled and waved to them. Joey then told them to go inside and for Angela to make dinner as it was very late.

They ran inside pulling their mother with them. "Listen, tonight we'll relax and play it low. No talk of zeros or anything like that. Both of you will go shower, there is a bathroom upstairs and downstairs. After that we will eat dinner then you will sleep in the living room." Joey said, Beau and I shook out heads yes, then we went inside.

"So, which bathroom do you want?" Beau said kinda joking.

"Ya know, I actually want the upstairs one." I said smiling at him. He nodded in return.

Walking in was a small mudroom with a coat rack, past the mudroom was the kitchen that is connected to the living room.

Joey showed me to the upstairs bathroom and I hopped in the shower.

--after the shower--

I walked down the stairs, my long brown hair still wet, and turned the corner to see everyone sat at the table. One spot was left open at the tall wood table, at the ends of the table were Joey and Angela, of the farthest dude if the table were their children, and closest to Joey was Beau and next to him was my seat.

I pulled out the chair and sat down. On the table was a chicken, rice, and steamed broccoli. Everyone one clasped hands, I hesitated before taking Angela's and Beau's hand. I haven't prayed scince I was younger, I put my head down.

"We thank You Lord, for all you give; the food we eat, the lives we live; and to our loved ones far away, please send your blessings, Lord we pray. And help us all to live our days with thankful hearts and loving ways. Amen." Joey prayed and we all sang in with an amen and began eating.

After dinner Angela set us up on the pull out bed in the living room. It was hard to fall asleep, but I did.
