Upon the arrival of home there was a box waiting on the steps. Liam decided to pick it up and everyone naturally followed him, out of sheer curiosity. He opened it and held a few gifts, small and cheap of course. But there was a wooden box with some expensive cheese and other none perishable foods. I was no longer interested, so I was going to go up stairs and maybe organize clothes and try to pull myself together as stuff is all scattered.
"When are we going to this party?"
"It's just a club!" Zayn piped up
"Were leaving at nine most likely." Niall answered my question.. unlike smart remark Zayn
I carried myself up stairs quietly, and pushed my door with care. I had strung clothes out so I got to work putting them back into drawers. A light knock on my opened door caused me to look,
"Penelop- Diana can I come in?" Harry spoke
"Sure." I gave a small smile at his acceptance
He laid on my bed, going through his phone, and I walked around my room picking up and dusting away all the dust that's collected over the month but there didn't seem to be a thick layer.
"Was my room kept clean while I was away?" I asked wiping the nightstand
"Yeah, I cleaned it every so often... I wouldn't let anybody do it." He said sitting up
"You know." I said sitting beside him
"You make me feel like shit, even if you don't do it on purpose." I chuckled
''I don't mean too!" he whined
I laid down and dragged him down with me and stared at the ceiling.
"I could fall asleep." I mumbled
"Then do."
"I can't"
"Than why say you could?" He chuckled
"Because I wan't to but I can't get myself to close my eyes."
"Why don't I just lay here until you do." He said pulling me to his side wrapping his arm around my neck.
I didn't refuse, because I felt there was going to be no refusing. I lay my eyes shut and tried to look past the veil of things pushing me to stay awake. It's not that the memories told me to stay awake, but what the memories held was so unsettling that I felt like I had too.
"Aren't we leaving for the club soon." My voice barely holding a whisper
"We could stay here." Harry spoke low
"No, I wan't to go out with you guys, without worrying about impending doom. I want to know what it's like."
He didn't say anything, but we just lay there, enjoying the quiet. I turned to lay on my back and he adjusted his arm, I stared out the sun roof, leaves would gently fall down then just as soon as they landed a light breeze would carry them away. It was tranquil. I focused on nothing but the weather outside and felt this odd sense of peace, where all my energy lay in this small action.
"Is this cuddle time?" Niall voice could be heard at the door in a failed attempt of whispering.
We didn't say anything but he came in and crawled on the bed and threw his leg over me and somewhat over Harry. He rested his head and arm on my stomach, wiggling his head around till he found the perfect spot.
He didn't want conversation either, and it just felt weird for people to want to be here, wanting to be around me. That even though they knew I was off, just forgetting the conversation I walked in on. And it really didn't bug me, even though I feel like it should. But the comfort outweighed the stubbornness.
