Victoria Mathews

Okay, so I wasn't late to 3rd block, but my friends were pissed. My friend's names are Justin and Bella. Justin is... gay, but we've known each other for a few years, and Bella has been my friend since the beginning of last year. Bella has long blonde wavy hair. She and I met in the mall actually, she and I were dress shopping for a school occasion and she told me she went to Hermitage too and it just went from there. Justin and I met in drama club has this nice personality. He's really shy and quiet most of the time. He wears thick rimmed black glasses. He has a serious relationship with his boyfriend, Cade.

They walk up to me all huffy and mad. Bella and Justin walking side by side. Justin has his hands on his hips and looks mad. Bella is just silent but confused. Justin takes a deep breath before yelling at me.
"Where have you been?! We looked everywhere!" Justin exclaims. I just laughed. I put my knuckles over my mouth, trying not to. I blushed.
"Yeah. Where were you?" Bella asked. She is more calm than Justin, obviously.
"Okay. Justin, you need to calm down, and Bella, I was with Zach."
"Whoa, woah, woah! Wait, Zach ditched too?!" Bella asks.
"Wait, Zach? Parker? The basketball player? Ooh damn!" He says perky.
"Yeah, I thought you guys knew this. Besides, I don't want people figuring it out, unless I tell them." I say, looking around.

"Okay." They both said.
"Sooo, how was it?" Justin said. I bit my lip.
"It was okay. I'll probably never do that again." I smiled, trying to cover up my disappointment.
"Mhm. Whatever you say, Juliet." He said smirking.
"Hey, lunch is in a few minutes, maybe we can all go get Starbucks!" She said. Maybe I needed this, to be with my friends and not be all upset about a boy who probably didn't know what he was doing anyway. "Yeah, then hit some shopping place or something!" Justin said.

I know what you're thinking. 'Most Sophomores can't drive', well let me tell you something. Justin isn't a Sophomore, he's a Junior and he's 17. He likes to drive us around and practically ditch lunch to go eat with us.

Normally we all go to our class before lunch which is only about 25 minutes long, then an hour for lunch break. Most people leave the campus and others stay here.
"Okay, meet by Justin's car?" I asked. "Meet by Justin' car. Got it!" Bella repeated.

I have communications class before lunch. It's really boring. I don't even know why I signed up for it in the first place. I thought it was something like debate, but I guess I should have read the fine print. My teacher's name is Miss. Jeanette. She wants to go by her first name, so I guess that's what we're supposed to do as students, call her by her first name.

"Hello class, welcome back to another heart warming day of a room full of students." Says Miss. Jeanette. You wonder why she's a Miss. Ugh. While she's still talking, I grab my phone out of my back pocket and go to messages. I had a new text, was it from Zach? Please be from Zach.
Nope, it's from Justin.

"Can't wait to hang! You don't have to tell me now, but I want to know what happened. Whenever you're ready. xoxo"
That was nice, I needed that. Whelp, I'm texting Zach.

"Hey, wanna ditch again next week ;)" ~send~

"Miss. Mathews!" Shit. I look up. I wasn't startled, but I didn't want to be in trouble.

"Yes, Ma'am?" I said. She reaches her hand out, walking toward me.

"Phone!" she said firmly. I give her my phone. The whole class was looking at me. I roed my eyes. I just wanna talk to Zach.
"Everyone is aware no phones in this class? Right?" She said, scanning the room.

"Good!" She said. She put my phone in a drawer in her desk.

This was the longest 25 minutes of my life. I sat in the room, not paying any attention to anything. I fidgeted with my eraser. The bell finally rang and I sprang out of my seat. I walked through the hallways and looked at everyone. My eyes caught on Zach's friends all standing close to my locker, which I stop by every day before lunch. I approached them.

"Uhh, what are you guys doing here?" I asked.
"Can I ask you something?" Said Ash.
"No, let me ask-" Mark says, shoving Ash out of the way. I squinted my eyes. He came close to me. Mark was kinda cute to be honest.
"Okay so, Zach came into 3rd Hour late, do you know why? He said he ditched but, why would he do that?" He asked. He had his suspicions. He wanted an answer. I leaned on the lockers.
"Nope, no idea- Why do you ask?" I said, raising my eyebrows.

You know that thing girls do when they are annoyed with a question someone has asked them but they play it kinda cool. That was me.

He looked past me and licked his lips, then looked back at me.
"I'm just trying to figure out why he would do it. But if it has something to do with you..?" He stared at me. Why was he being so weird? Was he trying to schmooze me into telling him about what happened?
"Mark... Why are you still standing here?" I asked, getting agitated.
"Because I know you and Zach have some thing going, and I know you were counted absent because my sister works in the attendance office. I know you were with him, Victoria."

I took a deep breath and then remembered I had to meet Bella and Justin at the car. I stopped for a second. I looked him right in the face. I scoffed and walked off.
"Where ya going?" He said as I walked away. I just kept walking. I didn't care. I don't really like Mark, yes he's pretty and all but he's so... ugh, complicated.
