- Lazy Day ~ Bruno Mars

Today was my day off and I decided to spend it at home. I sank into the couch cushions, getting really into the book on my lap. My acute, battle-ready ears picked up someone padding into the room and on the opposite couch.

The footsteps are too quiet to be Harry's or Dad's, but not light enough to be Eva's. That only leaves Mum. "Hi, Mum." I mumbled, looking up from my book. She cocked an eyebrow at me, resting her arm on the back of the couch. "How'd you know it was me without looking up?"

I sat my book on the coffee table next to where my feet rested and adjusted the fluffy blanket on my legs. "I listened and analyzed your footsteps. Just a little something I've picked up." Mum stared at me blankly for a few seconds, before starting on the real reason she was here.

"So, you've been working really hard lately and Dad and I have been unpacking our things. We haven't really had any time to talk." "Talk about what?" I questioned. A smirk formed on her face. "Harry told me you have a boyfriend. Tell me everything."

My face flushed a bright red. Thank you for telling me that Harry deserves a brilliant smack upside the head the next time I see him. "Well, his name is Peter...He has blond hair and really pretty blue eyes. Peter is very kind and loyal and smart...sometimes. Very handsome, did I mention that?" A smile formed on my face the more I started to think and describe him.

My mum, being who she is, pretty much started fangirling over everything that I said. "So when do I get to meet this amazing fellow of yours?" I bit on my lower lip, crestfallen. "I dunno. We um kind of lost touch." I mumbled.

She rolled her eyes at me. "You didn't get his phone number? Laurel, Laurel, Laurel! How do you expect to find him if you can't contact him?" I buried my face in my hands, irritated with myself. "I don't know why! You know I don't use my phone very often and forget about it more often than not."

Mum chuckled, resting her head against the pillows. "How did you two meet?" My mouth went dry. Shit, I should've known she would've asked about that. "We were introduced through a friend." It was more or less true. "If you care for him as much as Harry told me, then here's my advice: Don't let someone like him go so easily."

I nodded, understanding what she was saying. "I just gotta keep my eyes open is what you're saying." She smiled. I jumped up from the couch and kissed my mother's cheek. "Thanks, Mum. Do you know where Harry is?"

She pointed to the kitchen and set me on my way. I marched out of the room and into the next to find Harry standing in front of the fridge, drinking a can of soda. "Hey what's-" Smack. I whacked Harry in the head, causing him to stumble into the fridge. "What the bloody hell was that for?" he growled. I glared daggers at him. "You idiot! Why would you tell Mum about Peter?"

Harry winced. I raised my hand to hit him again, but he stopped me. "Hold up! Mum pretty much forced it out of me. Eva was no help, she ran away before Mum got to her. Take a breath woman. You look like you could stop a moving bus with a punch."

"Don't underestimate me when I'm angry." I warned. Internally, I sniggered at my brother's face. Of course I couldn't stop a bus with my fist. But he didn't have to know that. Harry rubbed his head, holding his soda in the other head.

"Does my face look alright?" He asked, looking at himself through the fridge's reflection. I rolled my eyes. "Right now, you look like an idiot. But why does it matter?" Harry glowered at me and put his drink back in the fridge. "It matters because Ginny is coming over."

Again, I rolled my eyes. "Great, so you'll be hogging my friend the entire time she is here. Does Mum know you're dating?" Harry widened his eyes as an evil look crossed my face. He lunged for me as I bolted out of the room, yelling, "MUM! MUM, HARRY'S DATING GINNY."

Harry caught me and wrapped his hand around my mouth just as the words left my mouth. Mum stared at us with a blank expression. She sipped her cup of coffee and crossed her arms. "Harry, is this true?" He huffed dramatically and nodded. Our mum's face broke into a wide grin, before glaring at us. "How come I'm always out of the loop?"

I walked out of the room with my hand muffling my laughs. I could hear her interrogating him even when I closed my door. Poor Harry. Oh well, it's a better punishment than hitting him. I chuckled to myself and plopped down on my bed.

Peter stared at the wall in front of him, trying to ignore this siblings' presence. "Pete, I don't think it's healthy to stare at a wall for so long." Edmund called from his slouched position on the couch, his eyes focused on the show on TV. "Well I don't see anything else worth my time." He replied dully.

From the corner of his eye, he could see Susan and Ed roll their eyes while Lucy watched him with pity. "The two of you don't know what it's like to be in love. Don't roll your eyes at him." Lucy snapped, patting her brother on the shoulder.

Helen Pevensie strolled into the room with a bowl of popcorn for her children, raising an eyebrow as three of her four scrambled to the couch, trying to act as if they'd been watching TV. She frowned deeply at the sight of her eldest staring out the window longingly.

Mrs. Pevensie set the food down and walked over to Peter. She placed a hand on him and asked, "Peter, dear, are you feeling alright? You seem a bit out of it." He stiffened for a moment, reminded of Jadis using some of those exact words. "Oh, he's out of it. He's gotten bitten by something called the love bug! And I think he's coming down with Laurelitis!" Ed crowed.

Peter glowered at his laughing siblings, catching his Mother's confused expression. "Edmund, what on earth are you talking about?" Peter opened his mouth to cut his brother off, but was too late. "I'm DEFINIETLY NOT TALKING ABOUT PETER'S GIRLFRIEND."
