Chapter 8 : The Woods Talk

Katniss POV

I turned around to see who wrapped their arms around my waist, and kept me from jumping.

Peeta.

He saved me. My stomach lurched so much that once I was safe on the ground, I literally hugged the ground. Peeta must have thought that I fell that his arms -that were wrapped around my waist durring all this time- tighten around my waist. Tears fall from my eyes. I sit straight up and Peeta's arm fall to his lap. I sit crissed crossed faceing him. And I just fall apart. I let everything out.

Peeta POV

Even though I have injuries, I run to my car, and follow Finnick. He looked relly angry, about to blow. I mean its not my fault that Katniss kissed me. Yeah, she kissed me firet. I was shocked but then I took over the kiss and it looked like I kissed her first. So of course that gives Finnick the right to make it look my fault. Dont get me wrong, it isnt Katniss' fault either.

Finnick passes a red light and it almost hits his side from the car. But he keeps going. He then pulls over and I pull over from far. I sit there waiting and see Katniss run out and into the forest. Moments later Finnick follows her. I don't know if I should also run after her. But then I see Finnick knocking on my window. I open the door and step out.

"I think you should try to find her."

I just nod and run into the woods, after my love. I can hear from far two things. One of them is a crash. Finnick must have punch something really hard or someone crashed our cars. I want to go back and check to see if Finnick is ok. But he left me in charge of Katniss, so I need to find her. Then I hear something so beautiful. I go towards this beautiful voice. Walking through so many trees, to find her singing, was so worth it. She is standing on the edge of a cliff, tempting to jump. I see her jump up and gravity wanting her to come back. Luckly, I grab her in time.

Katniss POV

Me starring into his beautiful blue ocean eyes, and him starring into my dull grey eyes, is probably the most beautiful moment that I want to freeze time. I reach for him again, and kiss him as passionatly as possible. I lost my balance and fell backwards, with my arms around his neck.

But then we break apart to take a breath. "I love you with all my heart Ms. Everdeen" he says with his eyes still closed. "I . . .I . . " "Shhhh. Right now, its probably not the right time. You need time to think." I respond, "Thank you Peeta"

Still shocked, he gets up and offers me a hand. I accept and he pulls me up. "I think we should check up on that boyfriend of yours. I left him over there." I don'trespond and just follow him.

We reach the end of the woods to meet the road. And I saw the worst thing ever . . . . . . . .
