"Welcome to willows creek. We are happy to have you as new residents in our town. If you need anything come to towns hall and we will gladly fix the problem." An older man told us. He smiled showing the few teeth in his mouth, most of them were missing.

My face scrunched up in disgust.

I hate it here already

We drove our moving truck through the big rusted metal gates that had had the words 'Willows Creek' engraved at the top to indicate that this was indeed willows creek. We pulled up to an old wooden building. The paint on the house was chipped and the wood was eroding. The house looked as if it was 100 years old; in fact, i think that it is. There were only a few people out and they looked just as dead as their town. I watched as they stared down our moving truck. No smiling, no waving, just staring.

I shook my head and sighed. "They should call this the town of the dead." My little brother said, his little face scrunched. We laughed, all thinking the same thing.

"Oh hush kids, it's not that bad." My mother tried to convince us but we weren't having it.

My parents had visited this place about two months ago. They claimed that it was perfect for starting a new life but so far it hasn't really impressed me. This town was very quiet and dull, something that we weren't so used to. I wondered why we even came here because this whole town seemed like a major step back.

My little sister and brother quickly jumped out of the truck and raced to the front door. My mother grabbed a box and followed behind them.

"Slow down kids!" she yelled, annoyed at the two. They ignored her and pushed through the door. I rolled my eyes, chuckling in amusement.

My father came with boxes in his hands and kissed my mother on the forehead. "Don't stress too much, It could hurt the baby." he smiled softly, looking down at her growing belly.

My mother pouted, "But we just got here and they're already being disruptive." She looked back at the door, frowning when she saw that they had left it open. She grumbled and started walking towards the house but my father stopped her. "I can handle the kids sweetie, just go sit down. The bed will be the first thing that I put up so that you may rest."

She sighed and nodded, a small smile formed on her face. "I really couldn't ask for a better husband." She stood on her tippy toes to peck his lips.

I gagged, "Please, not out here. Not in front of our new neighbors." They pulled away and chuckled, "Lets just go inside, some people just can't stand to see two people happy and in love." My father said, glancing at me. My mother nodded in agreement, laughing.

I watched as they went inside, my dad carrying his and my mother's boxes. I shook my head at the two and followed them inside. Although the exterior of the house was a big eye sore- the inside was tolerable. It almost made up for the outside, almost.

I made my way past one room and saw that the twins had already claimed it as their own and were now fighting over which side they would have. I shook my head and looked for my room. This was only a three bedroom house so it wouldn't be long before I found out which room would be mine.

I walked past another room and saw my parents looking around. They stopped for a moment, staring at each other lovingly. I chuckled and continued down the hall until I stopped at the last room on the right. There was another door across from it that I assumed was the bathroom. I opened the door to the room to see a shiny white sink and a toilet to match. I looked over to see a large bath in the corner. My assumption was right.

I smirked to myself then made my way over to my room. I nodded to myself as I walked in. Not too bad.

The walls were a pretty floral print with white baseboards. The floor was made out of a pretty, glossy, oak wood that mother had told me about after they visited. I put my box down and looked around the room. There was a big window that gave a nice view of the houses and all of the trees that were outside.

The light that came in made the room seemed to make the room look so angelic. It was refreshing, calming. I opened the window, feeling the cool breeze from outside and I sighed. The sun was close to setting and it was a very beautiful sight. This was nice. I looked around more and was surprised to say that I was satisfied.

I had a small smile on my face once I finished examining the room.  I made my way to the door, looking back one more time before walking out and closing my room door. I made my way down the hall and saw that my parents had moved into the kitchen.

"So, how is your room sweetie?" My father asked me as he cradled my mother. My smile widened. "I love it, it's absolutely wonderful." I replied. They seemed surprised but were happy with my answer. "That's good love! I'm happy that you like it so much." My mother smiled as she made her way over to me, kissing my forehead.

I held back a grimace. "Well I'm just gonna get my last few boxes that I left in the truck." They nodded and I went outside, wanting to hurry before it got even darker.

I leaned into the back of the truck and saw that my father had already gotten everything else out. I shrugged, happy that I didn't have to carry much and pulled my last two boxes towards me. Just as I was about to pick them up I heard footsteps behind me. Thinking that it was just one of my siblings, I ignored it. Suddenly I felt a chill go up my spine. I stiffened and my heart started beating faster. I closed my eyes, slowly turning around.

I hesitantly opened my eyes and saw nothing but the few houses around me and the dirt road.

I sighed and shook my head, the ride here had worn me out and that was what was probably causing me to hallucinate. I just need some rest. I convinced myself.

I turned back around and leaned into the truck again, grabbing the boxes. I turned around and jumped back, a gasped escaped my lips. There was a boy standing across the street from my house. He stared at me with a blank look,  the smallest hint of curiosity in his eyes. I watched his eyes as they went up and down my frame.

Where did he come from? I whispered to myself. His stare creeped me out, I wandered if he noticed the discomfort on my face.

After a few seconds I decided to do the same and studied him, looking at all of his features; from his Raven black hair, to his light blue eyes. He had a nice fair skin town which was different because I was so used to seeing people with beautiful brown skin like my family and I's. He was handsome. I couldn't help but to think as I admired him.

He suddenly looked into my eyes.  We had a staring match, his eyes never leaving mine and mine never leaving his.

Was he the one I heard? The one who snuck up behind me? My eyebrows furrowed at the thought. I didn't like it one bit.

Just as I was about to speak my little brothers voice cut me off. "Tinata! Ma says to hurry inside before it gets too dark!" He yelled. I replied with a nod and watched as he ran back inside.

Once he was gone I turned to where the boy was standing to find that he had disappeared. I frowned and looked around to see if I could spot him but he was no where in sight.

I groaned as I felt a weird feeling in my stomach. Something wasn't right about this town and this might've just proved the idea to be true.
