"Lexa! Dinner!"
I heard Hunter call me, so I opened my eyes, it was dark out, and I had a letter in my hand, I read it over, and headed downstairs.
I walked down the stairs of an unfamiliar house, with Anna, Hunter and Ezra standing in the kitchen with pizza.
"Hey guys, two questions, where am I, and who is Harry Devon?"
"Oh, you're at my house, yesterday, we walked home after school to find your dad making burgers, I went home, and I heard you scream, I went back to find you knocked out cold in the kitchen. And Harry Devon is-" Ezra informs me.
"Harry Devon is me, who asks?" A raven haired boy asks.
"Were you adopted?"
"Yes." Harry answers.
"When I woke up, I found this letter in my hand." I handed it to him.
He read it over a couple of times, with tears in his eyes, before looking back at me.
"A-are you my s-sister."
I nodded, on the verge of tears.
"Yeah, I think so."
With that we both hugged.
"So, you're my brother?"
"Yeah I guess!" He turned around and walked towards the kitchen.
"Come on, let's go for a walk."
I nodded at Ezra and headed to the door while pulling my jacket on.
*
After about 20 minutes of walking, we found ourselves at the corner of Bank and Baker. If you hadn't guessed, this was the corner where my mother was killed.
We stood in silence for a few minutes, until something caught my eye.
"Hey, Ezra, what's that in the bush?"
"I don't know, let's go see."
In the bushes, we found a knife with a silver hilt, carved with various symbols. On the bottom was a small slit.
I pried it open and we found a letter inside.
"Read it out loud." Ezra said, I began.
"To the person who finds this, I am Elizabeth Smith. I was hired to murder Beatrice Martin with this knife. I was almost done with the mission, when a man ran her over, causing me to be fired. If you wish to solve the murder of Beatrice Martin, meet me at 73 Rockheller street."
"Wow, that's a lot to take in, do you want to go see it?"
"Yes I do, but let's go tomorrow, and we can't tell the others about this."
"Ok, I'll hide it in my jacket."
Sorry for the short chapter, this one is short, but it will get very interesting in the next update.
