Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to All!

"Papa! Papa!" Nicole exclaimed as she ran into the living room, running right up to her father sitting in his chair. "Bonne Fête des Pères!" (Happy Father's Day!)

"Aww, merci Nicole," Damien replied as he lifted the small child off of the ground, sitting her down into his lap. "Tu est gentille." (Aww, thank you Nicole,) (You are kind.)

"Happy Father's Day Damien." Gabrielle said as she carried in a small box and a card. Virginia trailed behind her mother, carrying a balloon with the words 'happy Father's Day' written on it. "Nicole, Virginia and I brought you something~"

"Ooh, I wonder what's in it?" Damien asked as Nicole jumped off his lap, making way for the red box and card. "I think I'll open the card first."

Opening the card, Damien read t out loud. "Happy Father's Day! You are the best dad/husband we could ask for!From Nicole, Virginia, and Gabrielle."

Looking up from the card with a smiling face, he could see everyone else beaming. "I'll open up the box next."

"Yay!" The children cheered, and Gabrielle clapped her hands in excitement.

Carefully taking the bow off the top of the box, Damien was surprised when the sides of the box fell open, revealing a small round cake. On top of the cake was a picture of the couple holding baby Nicole and baby Virginia.

"This is lovely!" Damien exclaimed as he plucked the picture off the top, looking at it more closely. "Where'd you manage to find this? It's so old!"

"I have my ways," Gabrielle replied slyly as she walked over to the man, retrieving the cake off of his lap. "Gonna help me with this cake or no?"

"I'd love to," Damien replied as he let his eyes drift to the back of Gabrielle as she walked towards the kitchen, the kids following behind her. Placing the empty box to the side, he rubbed his hands together and anticipated for what his other "gift" will be later that night.
